Our group of 25 family decided on this place as our excursion for the day and have to say we couldn't have been happier. Very remote (about 20 min from port), but because the cost includes transportation, it wasn't a hassle. Just walked to the cab line outside the port and said alma plena and all the cabbies knew exactly... More

We discovered this amazing resort thanks to Trip Advisor when one of our cruise stops got changed to Costa Maya at the last minute. We couldn't have been more pleased. It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever been....soft white sand and blue, clear water with a coral reef you can snorkel at right from... More

The first impression is great. In the middle of nowhere, 20 Minutes away from Mahahual we found this little hotel with a certain laid back atmosphere, located directly at the beach. The rooms are spacious and individually decorated, everything is clean and well taken care off. The views: gourgeous. We decided to stay for a couple of nights, and we... More

We stayed at Almaplena for 2 nights to kick off our 11 day Southern Yucatan/ Bacalar Lagoon adventure. We got placed in the Charming Suite on the top floor with king bed surrounded by pretty mosquito netting. The room was large with nice slate tile floors and pretty natural touches like exposed wooden beams. Good size bathroom with large shower,... More

We wanted to go to lake Bacalar but found this hotel on tripadvisor and thought it would be cool if we just spend one night in Mahahaul before heading down. We had a rental car so we were able to drive there but I really have to admit that the ride to the hotel was annoying and the road was... More

We came here on a cruise. It was great to get away from the cruise crowd and enjoy a peaceful day on the beach. Lunch and drinks was great. I would consider coming back here and staying for several days.

We were there tree nights and was incredible. The place is just amazing, cozy and clean wherever you look. The beach in awesome, in front they have a coral reef. The rooms are big, the furniture very nice and in general the place is quiet. When you stay there you can take a breakfast included, is good enough, but also... More

I am so thankful we stumbled upon this location for our cruise stop. Soft sand, picturesque beach and best of all isolated from the rest of the world (but with wifi!). We had all the food and drinks we could handle and loved the shrimp tacos. My boys loved petting Bella the dog. We would consider staying here for a... More

Stayed here 7/19/16. This is one of the nicest beaches I have had the good fortune to enjoy. The hotel is off the beaten path, and I selfishly hope it stays that way. We enjoyed our stay here, the one area of improvement they could use since the rooms do not have air conditioning - would be better ventilation. The... More
