This place is heaven. Quiet, clean, real mexico and on one of the best beaches of the Yucatan peninsula. The restaurant offers great food and service. This is managed by the neighbouring Esencia Hotel. Soon to to have these quaint pretty beach bungalows to be replaced by concrete structures. In my opinion a real shame.

We were staying at the Esencia next door and ate at the Al Cielo one evening. The restaurant is served from the Esencia - but probably nicer menu and certainly a cheaper one. There has been storm damage to the thatched restaurant which juts out over the beach but that just adds to the charm! There are imminent plans to...

Al Cielo and (the more expensive and luxury) Hotel Esencia are the paradise on hearth. Very rarely I missed so badly a place after returning home! Located on a stunning very quiet beach between Playa and Tulum, Al Cielo is the perfect place to spend some days relaxing, sunbathing, doing sport and eating well. During our stay, we were very...

We stopped by the Al Cielo oceanfront restaurant and and had an incredible lunch with a view of the ocean. We had classic mexican dishes such as the fish of the day and fish tacos. Both were exceptional as were the margaritas. The vibe was laid back and cool and the decor was reminiscent of the Grecian Islands with a...

My family and I were wowed by the level of hospitality of this property. First, we were welcomed by a lovely woman by the name of Veronica I believe. After a stressful stay in Holbox at a horrible property. (see my review for Villas HM Palapas del Mar in Holbox), this was like a taste of pure heaven. Veronica had...

Al Cielo is a beautiful small hotel that, I believe, at one time was truly a slice of heaven. The four smaller rooms that face the ocean (including Agua, where we stayed) are upscale beach rustic. The views from the room are amazing. There’s no glass on the screened windows, just shutters, which allowed us to fall asleep to the...

It has taken me almost 4 months to write this- I didn't want anyone to know about this gem (sorry, I know that's terrible for business and selfish of me), but ownership was changing hands while we were there, so not sure if it will be the same as it was when we were there July 2016. My sister and...

Dear guest, We are so happy to know you and your sister enjoyed your vacation with us. We totally undestand it's hard to share the secret! Kindly note the ownership is the same since 2015 and there are no plans for new ownership this year or next or in many years. We do have plans for renovations on 2017 but...

What a piece of paradise! We stayed 4 nights in La Mar suite and wish it could have been much longer. But nice as the suite was, having your own little (somewhat) private cabana on the beach raised the fantastic experience to an even higher level. The beds are comfy, the showers are hot, the beach is gorgeous, and the...
