Step back in time without sacrificing modern luxuries at our Southern Maine bed and breakfast near Freeport and Brunswick. This historic 1772 farmhouse with four beautiful guest rooms include a candlelit breakfast every morning, complimentary beverages, and evening snacks. Watch the sun rise over the beautiful pine tree forest that surrounds the farm and drift off to sleep lulled by the gentle sounds of peepers.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
We stayed at the Inn on a Friday night during their quiet season, and it is an amazing place to stay. The rooms are newly renovated with modern touches even though the house is historic with many period details carefully restored and maintained. There are ample spaces to relax downstairs around wood stoves and comfortable couches and chairs. The innkeepers are incredibly friendly but also carefully respect boundaries and allow plenty of space. They provide an excellent overview of the history of this historic house.
The food is plentiful, and the breakfast is spectacular. We had individually crafted quiches, fresh fruit, pastries, etc. along with available cereals and other options. There is a nice walking loop around the property if you want a bit of exercise and it is located only 10 minutes from Freeport and Brunswick and 20 minutes to Portland. Highly recommend!

I love have travelled the world and this rates as one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed at. Mary and Dave were so accommodating, they redefined hospitality to me. We opted to stay in the Royalsborough room so that we didn’t have to take internationally sized suitcases up one flight of stairs and the view out of our bedroom window was gorgeous in the Fall. Check in was so easy it felt like we were arriving home. The amenities are first rate, the bed is like sleeping on a cloud, the fully stocked fridge in the room and all of the snacks available in the common area (24 hours) are very, very generous both in quantity and in gesture. The inn feels very clean, excellently maintained, the hosts are working above and beyond to give this place the success it seems to have. We opted to have the Saturday night home cooked dinner and it rates as one of the best meals I’ve ever had travelling. An early morning flight saw Dave preparing a to-go breakfast kit for us that left me feeling even more humbled and grateful to have chosen the Bliss Farm Inn. The parking is ample which helps when travelling. Their resident dog, Callie, is so friendly and we enjoyed some play time with her on the Adirondack chairs that I LOVED having my afternoon coffee in. The hosts are friendly and engage in as much or as little conversation as YOU like. They couldn’t have done more for us in our stay and I hope to be back one day. I simply don’t have the superlatives that suffice to give this place and these hosts, the accolades it/they deserve.

This is a lovely, old B&B. The owners have thought of everything to keep their guests feeling pampered and appreciated. Our room was lovely and spacious. There was a refrigerator in the room stocked with all sorts of beverages. There were plenty of nice towels and lots of toiletries. The best part of the B&B was the breakfast. The food was delicious and not something you would fix at home. Very fresh. In addition, there are treats and drinks available all day if you like. There is plenty of parking. It seemed a bit out of the way, and it's on a fairly busy road. Overall, we had a great stay here.

I'm not an "inn" type of person; give me an impersonal hotel with large modern rooms and anonymous staff. But, my recent two-day stay at the Bliss Farm Inn may lead me to change my view of hospitality. Everything about our stay was pleasant: friendly and professional hosts, excellent breakfasts (highlighted by hot dishes), coffee and snacks throughout the day, complimentary sherry and port in the evening, and comfortable historical bedrooms. Additionally, my wife and I chose to enjoy and excellent Saturday night dinner at the Inn. The innkeepers, Mary and David, did indeed change my view of Inns.

I am so happy I was able to locate and reserve a room at the Bliss Farm Inn. We stayed in the captain Bagley room. The house was built in 1772 and innkeeper Mary was so proud to tell us of the history of the construction of the home as well as the families who have lived there over the years. Mary and David are relatively new keepers of this inn and have done an outstanding job to preserve its heritage and beauty. Mary has thought of all of the details needed and more. We were greeted with some beautiful chocolates from a local Chocolatier in Freeport. Lots of suggestions on where to go to dine and a refrigerator in our room filled with every beverage that one would need or want. Breakfast was abundant with a lovely homemade vegetarian quiche. We enjoyed interacting with Mary and David and learning their story. Love their dog too! If you are in the Portland area, be sure to stay at this quaint little inn. You will not be disappointed.

Our most recent trip to Bliss Farm Inn in November is actually our second and we love this hidden gem just 8 minutes from Freeport. David and Mary are amazing and friendly hosts and always make sure we're cared for, especially with small touches like homemade cookies and a guest pantry. We love the chickens in the backyard and the family dog that greets us.
Beds are comfy, the bathroom is clean and beautifully appointed with local items and anything we'd need for a weekend away. We also love the treats waiting in our room and the TV.
Their breakfast is AMAZING. We love the variety and tasty, homemade foods that keep us happily full. 5 🌟!
We're so glad to have found Bliss Farm and love the value and the fact that we feel like part of the family. Just like Cheers... at this place they know your name. Stay. You won't regret it!

We had originally planned just a 1 night stay at Bliss Farm but after being there less than an hour, we decided to stay an additional night. The Innkeepers, ambience, furnishings, fireplace… everything is just so welcoming and homey that you immediately feel welcome and relaxed. The breakfasts were fantastic! So much to choose from. Beverages, coffee, snacks were available all day including chocolate chip banana bread and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies - which were enjoyed with a cup of coffee while sitting in front of the real wood fire place! Bedroom and bathroom linens were beautiful and cozy and I even took a mid morning nap after breakfast! I seriously can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed being a guest and we hope to visit again in the future!

We had the best time for our one night stay at the Bliss Farm Inn. We were running late after a long day of driving and Dave happily stayed up late to accommodate our delay which we greatly appreciated. We stayed in the Captain Bagley room which was beautiful and full of history. The house is incredibly peaceful and well decorated, and feels like a comfortable way to travel back to a simpler time. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we had a great time exploring the grounds of the farm in the daytime. Mary and David were incredibly kind and gracious hosts and their dog is an absolute sweetheart as well. Would highly recommend staying at the Bliss Farm Inn, and we hope to be back again soon!

Bliss Farm Inn is simply a gem. From the rooms (which include an in-room minifridge with drinks) to the service and the morning breakfast this place is heaven. We stopped on our way up to Bar Harbor and it was perfect! It has become a must-stop for us from now on. If you are even slightly thinking about staying just book it, you will not regret it! Make sure to stop by the farmer's market on Saturdays ~15 minutes away from Bliss Farm Inn.

My family had a wonderful time at the Bliss Farm Inn! Mary and Dave were exceptional hosts, every detail of the Inn was incredibly welcoming, each room has its own history, and the fresh breakfasts and baked goods were out of this world. There is also the cutest, sweetest, most snuggly dog living on the farm. The Inn came under new management last year, and has received nothing but 5 star reviews since!
