Overall this was a pleasant place to stay. The old building has a lot of character, but most rooms are in a more modern outbuilding. These rooms are perfectly reasonable but lack any sort of character. Room was immaculately clean, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel bar and dining area is lovely, with an open fire and a...

This is a lovely historic setting for a wedding. We had a very comfortable room in the courtyard. We were in a ground floor room and found it to be very peaceful. The wedding meal was excellent and we had an evening meal and a breakfast as well, all of which were well prepared and tasty, We had a very...

The staff on reception were very friendly, informative and helpful. The bar staff were really friendly and again helpful. We had a room above the bar area which was lovely (huge bed!!) apart from a leaky shower which we reported to reception on our departure. Breakfast on Sunday morning was lovely, loads of choice and freshly cooked. Would stay again...

The building is beautiful and staff are charming, so it is with sincere regret that I must write this. I feel a little more focus should be spent on ensuring the rooms are well cleaned and cared for, especially for the £135.00 per night the room is marketed at. Unfortunately, in room 3, the following dissatisfactions were noted: -Paint flaking...

Welcome was great and very slick. The bar and and snack menu were brilliant with a very friendly helpful barman. We had breakfast the next morning which was excellent but can be a little busy between 0900 and 1000. On the slightly negative side and I must stress only a small issue was that Our room (219) although tidy and...

We had a lovely one night stay here. From our welcome to our departure we were very well looked after. The food at dinner and breakfast was fresh and well cooked and well presented, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in this really old building is wonderful, with several log fires making it feel...

We booked a table for 10 adults at 12 pm. We waited over an hour for food to arrive. 6 our of our party were very happy with their food. The other four ordered non standard menu including : tuna salad without anchovies, burgers with cheese and bacon but with no other incredients, eg chutney as advertised. The sunday roast...

This venue is a really warm, welcoming place to either eat, drink or stay in, located in the High Street of Old Amersham. It has a cosy feel to it, the staff and other customers were very friendly when we went there for a few drinks with family for a birthday celebration and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful, and we loved the old High Street. We had booked to eat here in the evening but storm Doris cut the electricity, so they suggested another pub for a meal which was excellent. We did enjoy a really good breakfast here the next morning. We stayed in the building at the back...
