We stayed only 1 night but was made very welcome. Full cooked breakfast was very good. The cottage we stayed in was lovely and clean and as it was quite cold outside heating was on to make us feel welcome. Bed comfortable and was able to make a cuppa. The only thing was we only had 1 hand towel but... More

My mother and I spent 10 wonderful days staying in this traditional country inn tucked away down a side street in Old Amersham. Kerry and all the staff were terrific, they made us feel so welcome and were genuinely interested in all our exploits as we visited friends in the local area. The boys behind the bar were terrific and... More

We wanted to be near Old Amersham for family history reasons and the Saracen's Head Inn worked out very well for us. Arrived in the middle of Sunday Roast lunch so could not have lunch there due to being fully booked. Dinner that night at Indian place across the street - Spice Society. Very good. As mentioned in other reviews,... More

I booked three nights stay and paid in advance however after traveling up from malmesbury we were horrified to find that even tho they had received out booking on line , we were not booked in and they were completely full . The owner was away on holiday and I did feel very sorry for James the barman, who was great... More

I've stayed there for a couple of nights recently. The room was clean (also cleaned up everyday) and the room was comfortable. However there was not a mini fridge in the room as described on their website. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. The location is also really good as it's in Old Amersham

Can't understand the high ratings for this place. We booked it for Sunday lunch based on TripAdvisor reviews. Friendly staff and a couple of good beers. Other than that... Food was pretty appalling: looked and tasted like it had reheated at least twice. Waiter served dessert while speaking on his mobile phone! Never saw that before. Bill had to be... More

Booked two rooms at The Saracens Head for a business trip for myself & my colleague. We arrived around 7pm and received a friendly greeting. As we booked two rooms together we were surprised when the barman directed me out of the main building to my room and left my colleague behind. My room (number 11 I believe) was behind... More

The Saracen's is a very very old establishment with a 16th century beamed bar and rooms in the old barns outside, the biggest bug bare was in such a small bar area why oh why do they have 2 massive televisions on the only two available walls that take over the whole place, the staff are attentive and friendly and... My husband and I stayed here along with 9 others for 3 nights. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel like friends. Kerry (the Landlord) and his staff are to be commended for their fantastic customer service. Our room (number 1 situated between the courtyard and the garden) was lovely. I had been a bit worried... First of all the look of this place is great, pretty courtyard, great garden and a great community feel in the bar area. The room was the right size for us, clean, comfortable and warm. We have a toddler, but this was not a problem. We had a pop up bed provided and little touches like toddler cutlery for breakfast... More
