Just had a lovely overnight stay at Nunsmere Hall. The hotel seems to be having some upgrades the lounge and library were beautifully upholstered and quite luxurious, the bar is cosy and the staff friendly. There was a day conference there when we arrived and so parking was a bit of an issue but was easily sorted. The grounds are... More

Your visit to Nunsmere starts with the loveliest drive through the trees, see the lake, come round the bend and a beautiful hotel is before you. The most wonderful doorman - what a lovely man - came out to meet us at the car, took our luggage and led us to reception which is a desk in the front hall... More

We spent two nights at Nunsmere Hall and stayed in the Orchid room which was huge, with a large comfy bed. The bath room was in need of decoration as the wallpaper had seen better days and the shower a little tired. We felt the menu for the restaurant had a limited choice unless you upgraded to the alacarte menu,... More

Having read the previous reviews I was a little concerned but I needn't have worried. Set in the middle of nowhere this is a lovely old world hotel, easy to find and in a lovely setting. We had a warm welcome at reception, our bedroom was massive - loads of space, clean, and very comfortable with a four poster bed.... More

My wife booked Nunsmere Hall has a romantic escape from our hectic life in Yorkshire. We absolutely fell in love with the place. A nod to Downton here and there, wonderful architectural features preserved along with more modern hotel conveniences. We loved the charm and character, including some of the more patina elements - which we embraced. You cannot have... More

Booked dinner, bed and breakfast on secret escapes. I would have given 5 if it wasn't for the disappointing dinner. The portions were very small. I had over cooked fish with three potatoes that were about the size of brussel sprouts, the sauce was sparse. £5 for a can of Guinness was very expensive, the coffees too were over priced.... More

. I would have given the hotel 5 if it wasn't for the slightly disappointing three course meal that I had booked with Secret Escapes. Although it was set in a lovely peaceful dining room, the portions were very small. I had three potatoes which were about the size of Brussel sprouts, and the fish was over cooked and the... More

Was part of a conference of circa 120 Professionals and everyone in attendance was very disappointed. DINING ROOM: We were all crammed into a room that should of had no more than around 50 people in it, not being able to get past the tables when the tables were occupied. LUNCH: was poor, uninviting buffet consisting of wraps, spring rolls,... More
