My extended family and I ate a nice lunch here with our four dogs, sat outside in their lovely beer garden which has a stream running through it... It was a Saturday and food is 12-2 but the chef kindly stayed on to do our lunches even know it was almost time to stop.. Nice pub but outside even better...

Great beer & good food served by friendly staff. Really good feel to this local. We were told they allow wild camping & have a shower available, so great stop over for Coast-to-coasters. The beer garden was a lovely, sunny place for a couple of pints after a walk in the fells.

Great place for a 1 night stop when walking through Ennerdale. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are basic but adequate. Nice garden and nature outside. Not too loud despite being a busy pub downstairs. Food was better than expected.

After a long first leg of the Coast to Coast, this was a very welcome find. Big, comfy rooms, even if they are quite basic. They certainly did the job in helping us rest weary limbs. The staff behind the bar are friendly enough and happily made us a packed lunch for the next day. The food though is really...

This Lake District pub offers basic B&B accommodation. I stayed two nights on a low-season deal which was very good value for money. The room was quite large. It was clean and comfortable,. The decor was a bit faded and the interior a bit worn and tired-looking. The bed was a bit saggy but I was comfortable and slept well....

We had previously stayed here in November 2015 and decided to book again for a 3 night break in February 2017. Once again we were not disappointed by this community run Inn. Our room was comfortable, clean and warm. The breakfast set you up for a days walking. We has 3 evening meals and they were all excellent quality and...

We called in here for lunch just 2 minutes before the time when food serving finished. They were very helpful in checking with the chef what was still available and the service was quick and friendly. The food was average pub food.

We stayed for one night at the Fox & Hounds after walking to Ennerdale Bridge from St. Bees. We arrived in mid-afternoon to a relatively deserted place and needed to track down someone to provide us a room. The room appeared not to have been updated in 30 years, but was relatively large and clean, with an older bed that...

I wanted to support this community rescued Camra listed pub so enjoyed a good pint of Ennerdale brewery bitter one lunchtime but my visit was ruined by a girl of about 5 running wildly throughout the bar and pool room shouting and screaming at the top of her voice. What appeared to be her grand parents made no attempt to...

Stopped in Ennerdale for three nights, we were going to eat in here , but given the fct the staff who were not busy at all, did not have any conversational skills or were not willing to engage we decided not to. The beer was very good however and well served with a good selection and a nice roaring fire....
