A group of cyclists used Beech House as a stop off on the C2C challenge. It was great, not least as the pub was 2-mins walk. Rooms were very clean, plenty of hot water and the best cooked breakfast I've had in ages. Would recommend 👍

Very friendly - warm greeting and made very welcome. We had two dogs with us and they were made welcome although not allowed in the main house, which we prefered. The room was very nice and clean. The location was superb and was very handy for the lakes, west pennines and the borders. The breakfast was outstanding and was home...

Beautiful accommodation and fantastic hostess who made best bacon butties to take to the rally at 6.45. She is amazing and funny will come back next year. I didn't use straightening irons either. The rooms were spotless and the plug fit the bath. 5 mins walk to the pub.

Great wee place to, very accommodating for cyclists- brilliant bike storage, offer to clean bottles and Jill washed all our clothes ready for the next morning. Breakfast was amazing - massive choice and posh granola! Hosts nice, friendly and upbeat. Wifi available in our room. Could of done with a hairdryer in the room - bedroom and bathroom a wee...

I was welcomed as soon as I pulled into the car park by Will who helped with my bags to my room. He introduced me to my room mate too which was nice. Their place is home from home and really lovely. My room was really spacious for the two if us (three single beds) and only 2 of us....

Spotless, large and quiet room with en-suite. Magazines, tea and coffee making facilities. Old house very well looked after. Excellent breakfast, with everything bar the beans and mushrooms their own produce. Particularly good sausages and bacon from their own pigs. A short walk to the Boot and Shoe pub in this lovely village. Secure storage for our bikes. Friendly hosts,...

Jill and Will must be the friendliest and most helpful owners ever, nothing was too much trouble, from washing and drying our wet cycling gear to taking me down to the village to pick up our luggage. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable some people have commented on the rooms being a bit sparse but given...

What an excellent welcome and stay. From the moment we arrived to the point we had to leave we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Easy, secure storage for the bikes and a drink on the sunny deck. The room and bathroom were faultless and I loved all of the ornaments and antiques. Breakfast was superb with...

Upon arriving we were greeted and looked after instantly. After a long hard ride from Whitehaven we had a lovely cold drink with Will and Jill and their lovqely friends and enjoyed the sunshine in their front garden. Each and every guest arrived and were greeted with the same generosity and warmth. Not only was the hospitality spot on, our...

This is a lovely old house with a welcoming landlady who cooks an excellent breakfast mostly of her own produce. It is close to an excellent and well known pub for you supper. However, £80 for a double room for a night is far too much. Our room was totally lacking in detail and facilities. By all means stay here...
