Stopped off here on the way back home after a snowy 17 mile walk on the fells. Fantastic and friendly service, amazing ale, gorgeous hot fire, rugby on the TV, and the best chips I have ever tasted. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Xx

Lovely rustic pub dogs welcome is a plus. Came here the 1st December as we have been staying in the local village of ravenglass.lovely walk up . So many pubs to choose from . Would recommend to anyone just wanting a quick refreshing pint before starting there decent back.
Cosy and dog friendly, we popped in for lunch, enjoyed gammon egg and chips, owner was very welcoming and food was good pub grub, menu was limited due to being out of season. Big warm fire near the bar, traditional rural pub.
