Booked this campsite as I have been a supporter and member of the National Trust for years until fairly recently. It is in a lot very spot at the edge of Wasdale lake however you have over an hour of extremely narrow country lanes, some extremely steep to get to it. The staff onsite are very friendly and helpful and...

This review is for a recent visit with our camper van. The pitches for the vans are wholly inadequate. It's no wonder there are no photos of the pitches on the website as there is not even enough room to sit alongside the vans in the main section. This therefore led us to 'having' to move to a small section...

Stayed here for one night in March 2017 in Foxes Tipi with two friends. The campsite is beautifully located at the top of wasdale valley very close to wasdale head. The facilities are great and comprise of a toilet block with showers, washing up area, drinking tap, laundry room and onsite shop. Friendly staff, although in low season they are...

Wonderful little campsite located in the perfect spot for those attempting Scafell Pike. Althouh getting to the campsite itself is a little tricky with all the winding roads (to be expected), the campsite is more than worth the drive. Clean showers and toilet facilities, and an on-site shop which has everything you could possibly need. Beautiful views, great for both...

It would be so easy for a campsite to detract from an setting that must be as close as England gets to a wilderness. However, this site sits respectfully in its environment in a simple, nature-compatible way and is is thus all the better for it. Lighting is minimal at night (so bring good torches), but conversely this means that...

A well run campsite in a stunning location surrounded by mountains. The site personnel were very helpful and informative, the facilities were pretty good. There was a small shop for any essentials you may need. The excellent Wasdale Head Inn was a mile or so up the valley. You can't take your vehicle on to the camping pitches so you...

This is a well run campsite in a stunning location. I was in awe of the view from dawn till dusk. Getting here is not for impatient - access is via several miles of single track road with passing places. The campsite is quite large but separated into glades so it never looks regimented or sparse. Nice thing about NT...

Firstly, the good points. The camp site is in a stunning natural location, next to Wastwater and the mountains loom over the site. Even in the mist and rain of our visit, the view was simply beautiful and awe-inspiring. The other campers were friendly and unobtrusive, with several families including young children. The washing-up area is well respected and clean...
