Fabulous hotel set in their own beautiful grounds with the stunning Lakeland mountains behind. The décor is just how you would expect a country house hotel to be and a lot of thought has gone into the decoration, fixtures and fittings. The hotel owners and staff were very friendly and did everything possible to ensure our stay was tailor made...

Acres of private woodland and grounds, large opulent rooms with views over the gardens and fells, perfect service and award winning cuisine. What more do you want? If you want to relax and get away from it all or use it as a base for exploring the Northern Lakes, this is the place. Chef proprietor and his team are obviously...

Set in spectacular mountain landscape, Overwater exudes peaceful grace and just slightly faded grandeur. The interior style probably needs updating soon but the place overall is charming, very comfortable and spotless- this is somewhere to retreat to and relax. There's very limited 3G or broadband connection and that's about right since the place is about recharging and stepping off. The...

My wife and I have just spent five nights at this hotel as our base whilst we explored the Lake District. It is simply a wonderful place. We were made very welcome and had complete relaxation during our visit. We had dinner in the hotel on our first night only but that was because we wanted to make the most...

We usually stay here, but last night was "just" a meal with two friends. The evening began by sampling Luke's cocktails. I went for the non-alcoholic Lemon Cheesecake. Taste bud explosion! The most difficult part was deciding what to eat, words cannot adequately describe the taste, texture, presentation etc etc. Try it! Our friends were first timers, but I know...

This is a real gem! Beautiful and peaceful location, great range of walks from the hotel, well furnished and maintained period rooms and excellent cuisine. Overwater is a delightful place to stay and admire the countryside and wildlife. My wife and I stayed in the Garden room that overlooks the patio and garden. Patio feeders ensure daily visits from red...

Just returned from repeat stay at Overwater Hall. A beautiful place to stay. Great food with fellow guests who often very friendly and chatty. Amazed how many are returning guests (like ourselves). It isn't difficult to understand that this place is very special - service, food and surroundings all top drawer add to that the staff of Adrian, Angela and...
