After deciding to visit the Lake District with my wife for a late summer break, we spent many hours comparing hotels on the internet, before finally making a booking to stay at the Lakeside Hotel. The location right on Lake Windermere was the initial reason for choosing this hotel. Upon arrival our first impressions were very good, set off the...

This is a hotel you go to for a treat...very classy, and reassuringly expensive. A taste of how things used to be. The closest you can get to a Downton Abbey experience...or so my wife says.... Location is absolutely lovely

Must mention Debbie on reception & Terence from the kitchen, they were both polite, helpful and cheerful, really made us feel at home. Hotel ideally situated for travelling Lake Windermere by steamer & train, very easy going relaxed atmosphere, with a great themed garden at the rear.

This is a superb property. It's a real one-stop property for an extended stay. 2013 we had 5 nights. Could only spare 3 nights in 2015, but we'll def have 7 nights when we return in 2 years. Bar snacks, bistro, conservatory, restaurant in the evenings (restaurant beautiful for breakfasts which are on until 11am!). View over the lake is...

I was at a wedding here at the weekend. Wow what a fantastic day it was. The hotel its self is lovely, with amazing views of the lake. The food was amazing and the staff were great. We enjoyed the boat trip around the lake after the photos. It was a nice change to the normal routine of a wedding....

We passed a grand piano on are way through to the orangery, upon it was delicious cakes to delight you. Inside the orangery we took tea and coffee, and were...

Whilst looking at Gardens open to the Public under the National Gardens Scheme it started to rain so we decided to "partake of some refreshment". Afternoon Tea with Cakes served in their Conservatory overlooking Lake Windermere was "sheer bliss". Friendly staff, seemingly bottomless coffee and tea , great cakes and comfortable surroundings. Prices correctly reflect the standards you are getting.
