Did the Hard knot Pass and at the bottom of Wrynose found this lovely INN !! A classic walkers Inn but what lovely food they serve. wanted something light and ordered the fish platter to share. Three slices Of smoked salmon must have weighed 4 ounces each. A pot of prawns smothered in marie rose sauce !! and half a...

Great little country pub in the heart of the Lake District. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Dined here twice and enjoyed two beautiful breakfasts. Decent wine list and great collection of whiskies. Stayed in Room 1. Lovely spacious room with ensuite. Clean and tidy. BUT the bed felt like it was made of bricks ! My wife and I...

We visited after a storm during the night had caused a power cut in the area. The staff coped with the problem well and told us what food they were able to cook/prepare. We ordered some sandwiches which were served with crisps and a salad. My sandwich was OK, nothing special which left me feeling disappointed since it cost a...

We started and ended a walk here on a very rainy day - and to be stuck here for a while was an absolute pleasure! The lady running the pub was incredibly helpful, providing assistance and phone lines for various people who were stranded due to flooding and breakdowns. She even got a map out and wrote down various roads...

Very pleasant stay, warm and friendly staff, the weather and views were fantastic with a very nice beer garden to sit in. Breakfast set you up for a days walking on the many available walks and the evening food menu was very good.

We came here after we bust a tyre at Wrynose pass and got recovered here after constantly pumping up the tyre and making our way here. Nice people, nice pub and great location. Despite our incident we wouldn't hesitate to come back, this time with a spare!

This is our favourite pub for lunch when walking in and around Little Langdale. It has a good number of various sized tables on a sunny terrace at which one can enjoy lunch. Whilst getting an order taken can be a slow process occasionally, once the order is registered the service is excellent. There is a wide range of sandwiches...

We call here as we walk through the lakes, the setting is fantastic, especially on a nice day and the selection of beer and drinks is excellent. The last time we called here several months ago, I felt the food wasn't as good, our visit this time confirmed that, the menu seems smaller and only one special on offer, so...

Nice little hotel, but I had the sense that they had just made a list of things that should be nice, and everything else was a bit of an afterthought. The room seemed like it was recently redecorated, but the pillows were thin and the beds were a bit uncomfortable and creaky. Nonetheless, there was more than enough hot water...

Stunning location on a tiny minor road with the mountains in front of you eating lovely food served by nice people. We walked from Great Langdale through the wood and a beautiful buttercup meadow to get there. Both the walk and the Inn are wonderful.
