Traveling down from Scotland my wife and I called in the Wheatsheaf at Beetham for Dinner. We ordered the slow cooked duck leg which looked very nice and well presented but unfortunately was very tough to eat. As other reviewers have already commented the price charged for drinks was astronomical £4.60 for a pint of lager!

With reference to your review we would have preferred if you had mentioned the Duck problem at the time to give us a chance to rectify the issue. As far as the price of drinks is concerned I think that you will find a Pint of Peroni is the same price, if not more, nationally and I should point out...

We called in to take advantage of their £6.95 two course menu. The food was excellent even though we had quite a wait from ordering our food to it arriving at the table, 45 mins. This was surprising as they were not busy. Unfortunately I feel that the drinks are rather pricey compared to other local establishments. Nevertheless a very...

Staying at the nearby bell-end camping and caravan site this was the nearest pub/restaurant within a short drive or energetic walk. Friendly staff, interesting menu and well cooked and presented dishes. Fine selection of ales (Timmy Taylor's) and ciders and wines and a delightful experience. Dog friendly too.

A great Inn with substantial and tasty food, welcoming hosts and lovely clean fresh rooms. The views over the pretty church are rather wonderful, but bring ear plugs if you're not used to noise it does chime through the night. Thoroughly recommend for its charm alone.

Beetham is such a pretty village to visit with the Inn dating from around 1609 and the old church next door with its 1000 years plus of history. I booked in for a night and was dealt with promptly and shown personally to my room. The room had been recently refurbished and was clean and comfortable with a large ensuite...

The service was terrible. Staff were unfriendly. We waited over an hour for our food, and when it arrived it was awful! My food was inedible. Tough overlooked chicken and curry sauce from out of a jar. Very disappointing, and stressful as we had very hungry children and were supposed to be celebrating a special family occasion.Another couple also walked out...
