As the title suggests this was my do rest visit to a yha and what a lovely building it was. Sat on the lake the hostel has great views over the water. Took a little getting used to the dormitory area but slept well. To say it was Easter the hostel wasn't full with some spare beds. We checked in...

It would seem that not a lot of people know about this place. Which all in all works brilliantly for us. We went there as a family taking three teenagers of varying degrees of moodiness. Has to be said that it would seem that all of them enjoyed it for the most part. The building itself is lovely and to...

I'll start with the good things: This hostel looks lovely, and is an absolutely beautiful location (right on the shores of the Wastwater). I ate there both nights of my stay, and the food was nice and the service excellent. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. If you want a base to climb Scafell Pike or explore the wider Wasdale...

We spent three nights here and for a YHA it's not bad at all. Currently undergoing some roof repairs but did not stop our enjoyment. Scaffolding around the building means I can only score 4 instead of the 5 is deserves. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and relaxed. Bob (the manager) has a perfect attitude towards his guests and...

We were here walking a few ridges. Lovely weather, great views, stunning autumnal colours. The hostel was great, easy access to the valley, although still a drive from any of the peaks. I'm looking forward to seeing the new roof and the building in all its glory when the scaffolding comes down. Great games room, and plenty of facilities.

Super friendly staff and great grub make this a special YHA in a wonderful location. I stayed for a week on an excellent course with Carolclimb Outdoor Adventures and had a marvellous time. I enjoyed the meals and for a change the highly rated Strands Inn and micro-brewery is only a mile away. Thanks very much to Bob and the...

This hostel is in an ideal location for quick access to some of the big fells. Set on the lake shore of wast water the views from the hostel are second to none. All of the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and first class. The food was the best that I have had in a hostel in recent times. Heartily recommend...

We stayed at the Hall for the 4th time. On a budget and spending most of the day in the adjacent fells, this place is ideal. Set in a tranquil location among the trees of Low Wood with a panorama of the screes opposite and from the Lake side boasts the most impressive view in the whole of the Lake District....

Arrived late and smelly after 36 mile run! Staff great and very helpful. Showers good and comfortable beds. Slept in a dorm but with shelf space and facilities for charging phone etc really pleased. Breakfast was very good, good coffee and vegetarian breakfast supplied no problem. Will be using this YH again...

Hi, Many thanks for booking to stay with us and also for taking the time to leave a review on the place. We have all the essentials for a great stay (well, maybe not a sauna or hot tub but most other things, including WiFi), in the best place in the world. We do take pride in our catering at...

Stayed a night at this fantastic hostel after a 15 mile wet walk from Buttermere (over Red Pike, High Style, a sopping Black Sail Pass...much needed dinnertime fish&chips and pints in the Wasdale Head Inn!) Was great to dry off and enjoy a quiet evening of chatting and reading with friendly fellow guests; the views of waterfalls and Wast Water...

Hi, Thanks for booking to stay at Wasdale Hall and thanks for taking the time to review us. Wasdale is surely the best place to be and naturally Wasdale Hall is the best place to be able to relax and soak up the mountain atmosphere.. (yes, this does mean the rain from time to time). Hope to see you again...
