A very pleasant weekend - perhaps the only way I'll ever stay over at a castle. Very comfortable accommodation in a very quiet spot - a good sleep was had by all. Nice walking and no need to use the car.

A perfect location to explore the area. The accommodation can be B&B or self catering with a large common room and huge kitchen available for residents. The kitchen would be useful for a stay longer than a couple of nights as the closest eating out options are in Ravenglass, which is a good mile away and involves walking back up...

We stayed for one night at the end of October lots of activities going on feeding the herons, ghost tour in the castle, trees lit up at night. very friendly and helpful staff. no phone signal but common for the area, good wifi. Nice to have a lounge and use of the kitchen. Beautiful setting

We stayed there for one night. The rooms really need some renovating. We didn't have a window and the room was very cold in the beginning. Breakfast was average - don't expect too much. What was really wonderful were the gardens of Muncaster castle which you could explore freely when all the other visitors were gone. They are included in...

I arrived here unexpectedly as my planned hotel was full-up. Didn't know what to expect but pleasantly surprised - a real fantastic location. Received a very warm welcome, room / bathroom was a good size and comfortable - no mobile signal but good wi-fi - very quiet at night and slept brilliantly - would be happy to return.

We had 2 rooms for 2 nights and although at first we were a little disappointed with the rooms (they are basic and in need of redecorating and restyling), the friendly staff, ambiance of the establishment and fabulous location in the grounds of the castle with free access to that, the grounds and the resident birds of prey made for...

Room was omfortable. We didnt take advantage of the castle grounds because we were out all day. Breakfast was very good. Surroundings beautiful. Bit of a distance to shops so buy what you need beforehand. Host quite hard to get hold of after hours; we tried several times to call around 6 to 7pm to arrange early breakfast but had...

We stayed here for our 25th Anniversary, delighted with out time here. This is not a pretentious place at all, the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was a nice simple arrangement with a fully equipped kitchen available for all guests to use, such peace and quiet you couldn't imagine and great views. The grounds are wonderful, the...

Double room was very small - no room to put two suitcases. Only one bedside table and a small shelf, no bedside lamps only one big light over the bed. Disturbed by big red light shining all night. Decor should be updated. Breakfast disappointing - there was no Cumbrian welcome here! Don't expect nice bread, Cumberland sausage or good coffee....

We Visited my sister in Ravenglass and stayed here for 2 nights. Room was ample with a good view of inside the castle. The reception and kitchen staff were lovely and the breakfasts were quality Fresh tasty food.
