Called in for a full English on festival weekend. We sat watching other people eating theirs for 20 minutes before the waitress came to take our order, only to be told that they had stopped serving full breakfast (even though we were well within the times stated on the menu). We then ordered poached eggs on toast with bacon. One...

After walking to the pretty village of Dent from Ribblehead my wife and I were in need of lunch. A quick potter around the cobbled streets revealed this excellent tea room. There was a standard menu as well as a specials blackboard. My wife and I both chose smoothies which were homemade to order, sizeable and absolutely delicious - not...

A lovely little tea room. So quaint and a great time capsule as it retains its authentic cottage style with a working range. The staff are warm and friendly and the menu is that little bit more intersting than your average tea room. The various Rarebits are an absolute must! Yum! My friend had the "Chutney" one which was delicious...

After crossing over from Outershaw, along the Dales Way in appalling weather, this was an answer to prayer. Although the Tea Shop was busy we were made very welcome with tea and cakes. Our room was very comfortable and although not en-suite, the bath was bliss to our aching legs after 4 days on the trail. Definitely on the list...

Making the journey from Sedbergh to Dent, we were in need of refreshment (as the world and his wife seemed to be coming the other way on a single carriageway road) and also £1 to have the right change for the parking meter. The owner kindly lent us the £1 so after parking we returned. This is a delightful place...

My friend and I arrived at Dent out of the back of a farmers' trailer, soaking wet and with a damaged bike and bruised and shaken lady rider. We had started our first day of our cycle tour of the Dales in wet weather and when coming down a steep hill off "the tops", two miles short of our bed...

We stayed for three nights in this wonderful B & B. Cosy, clean and quiet. Wonderful breakfast and great food. A lovely attention to details all round. Diana and Melvyn, the warm welcoming couple that run this place, made our stay a memory for life. The village and its surroundings are extremely picturesque and there are many lovely walks to...

We enjoyed an excellent light lunch here. We ate simple food but fresh and well cooked. We ate Welsh rarebit and Wensleydale ploughmans taking advantage of the famous local cheeses. The cakes were particularly good, a moist and flavourful carrot cake and sticky toffee pudding, served with a crunchy toffee sauce and with local Dales icecream. The cafe is attractive...
