room was really nice and the staff were friendly - what let the place down was the restaurant. They served a set menu with half a dozen choices so you would think the service would be excellent - the first night was ok but the second night we waited 35/40 minutes for our mains, then after another wait of about...

Shap Wells Hotel is such a mix of good and then really really bad. The rooms are ok - dated but not bad. Tea and coffee are provided in your room. The bathrooms look as if they could all do with a refurb and the water is not very hot. Highlights - seeing the red squirrels and the hotel is...

One night stay here on our way back from Scotland. Easy to find off the motorway and plenty of car parking space. Our double room had great views over the countryside because we had the corner bedroom. Bed a little too small for us, but we managed for one night. The bathroom was clean & modern and the shower ok....

I stayed at the hotel in February. When I arrived our rooms wasn't ready but that was fine. Took our bag to our room and thought how cold it was, so dropped our bag and went to the bar. The hotel is old and homely with lots of wood. Set in very rural location which is probably gorgeous in the...

Lovely hotel in stunning surroundings... Furnished and decorated to a high standard We had a nice room, good for. Drinks a bit pricy, large group of students staying which made noise levels and breakfast in morning not so good

We would like to thank you for taking the time to write this review... we are pleased that your accommodation met your standards, just a shame that our visiting students were noisy and you did not enjoy your breakfast in our lovely art deco dining room, because of them. Please come back and visit us again in the near future...
