We visited the White Hart for an evening meal, we had originally asked if we could be seated in the restaurant however we were informed that this was unfortunately full of stock and that we would be seated in the lounge. This was no problem. We ordered the goats cheese and crayfish starters which were really tasty and well presented,...

Have been here on a number of occasions when we have visited the lakes and it never disappoints. The steak was cooked to perfection for the two men who ordered this. Our wives chose lamb and chicken and these, too, were brilliant.

Prawn thermidor and steak and ale pie cooked to perfection, served with a smile and a surprisingly small bill. Can't praise the chef or the waiting staff highly enough. Will definitely return next time we are in the lakes.

My Wife and I ate here on a Monday evening. The pub oozes character, there was a good choice of local ales and the lady behind the bar was welcoming. I had a 5 bean chilli which was absolutely excellent with a good level of spicing which was just as I liked. My Wife had the steak and ale pie...

Popped into this inn on a circular walk from Newby Bridge. Owner couldn't have been more welcoming. Choice of unusual items on the menu was a lovely surprise. Comfortable chairs, warm fire and newspapers to accompany the delicious food what could be better on a cold misty day in the Lakes?

Having eaten and drank here in the past, we decided to have a 2 night break here. The room was warm and cosy (no3) though no views, but lots of character. The velux window over the bed gave us the added bonus of looking at the stars!! The bathroom has low beams, which was tricky for us taller people when...

We were only able to stay on Sunday night 4 September, but what a good find. The pub is a quaint oak beamed village pub with great atmosphere and friendly obliging staff giving excellent service. We were in Room 4 which is a spacious well appointed family room with a double and two single beds. The beds were very comfortable...

Popped in tonight on way home from a drive out for the day. Last time I'd been here was around 30 or so years ago! The games room is long gone and is now an area for eating but I have to say the food was excellent, as were the surroundings and general atmosphere. The only thing that marred our...

Great service, good food well priced and a lovely setting. Rooms a little dated but very old in and lovely beams in the rooms. Outside area lovely views. Brakfast was delicious and very efficient. All in all great value.
