We visited Brandraw House recently when we came to Cockermouth for Woolfest. Booked via TripAdvisor/Bookings.com which all went smoothly. The house is an 1879 period property, with a beautiful reception hall and staircase. The owner told us that the house had been built by a Doctor, who had his surgery just off the main hall via a passageway under the...

The house is spacious but no longer modern. The location is quiet (but the beds squeak), and there is a lawn in front of the house where the kids can play. A very friendly welcome by Robert who cooked us a great breakfast.

A very spacious accommodation away from the hustle and bustle like Windermere south west from Carlisle in NW lakes. Lots of cultural and family features/mementos in the house. Excellent quality cooked breakfast with choices from continental to vegan etc. Very spacious rooms and good facilities. Plenty of car parking and fairly priced. Quiet despite being on the main road in...

As he was'nt full I had a double room to myself for no extra charge and although there was a toilet and wash basin en-suite the shower was right opposite...

Very good value overnight stay. Beds are comfy, all the amenities you need in the room. The electric heater works well if left on for a while. Friendly owners. Well prepared breakfast in a pleasant setting. Not the most convenient location for visiting the lakes but I guess you can work that out from the map. All in all, recommended.

We enjoyed staying at this place - having been welcomed by Robert as if we were visiting friends. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room and made upon your wishes - including a choice of dutch bread sprinkles which the kids love. Rooms are basic but have all amenities you need - incl. comfortable beds. If you don't mind crossing...

Lovely old country property B&B, with stunning views (from our room) and friendly welcome from the family who run it. We stayed in the family room [5], which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children, and provided all the amenities needed. Breakfast was great quality and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

A great old house, with excellent customer service and a lovely full English breakfast. Robert and Joan couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. I really can't understand what some of the other reviewers are talking about. You get what you pay for! Thanks for a great weekend. Simon, Karen & Harry.
