We recently stayed here for 2 nights to break our journey to Liverpool. The hotel is clean with lounge and bar facilities in the main block. Our room was in the modern courtyard, and had everything you could wish for, and was kept extremely clean. The evening meal was good with a fairly extensive choice, but service was slow, in...

We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant each day. Our room was fine, spacious and quiet, with a good bathroom. The staff were friendly and cheerful, especially in the restaurant. Breakfast were buffet-style and offered a reasonable hot and cold choice (though the absence of the nice rolls served at dinner was regrettable). Dinners were well-cooked and...

Booked a single night here as an easter treat and a trip down memory lane having worked here 30 years ago before it was a hotel. Really sorry to have to say that the hotel lacks any warmth and atmosphere and that the history of the hotel as a former strutt residence is sadly lost. we found staff to be...

We stayed here for 2 nights using a buyagift voucher. We paid extra to upgrade our room and stay on a weekend. I'm curious as to what my upgrade money paid for but I have contacted the hotel separately about this and await a reply. We had a lovely stay though. The hotel s clean and service was good. Breakfast...

An overnight stay with my wife for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Lovely room, great atmosphere, delicious food! Not sure why there were 7 light fittings in our room though! Nonetheless, a very enjoyable break. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 4 nights from 26th March 2017. Friendly courteous staff, breakfast served in the garden room was plentiful for our needs. Unfortunately the room we were first given, number 43, in the courtyard (recently refurbished in a modern style!), the cleanliness left a bit to be desired - the glass inset shelves along side the bed had mug rings...

We booked here for 2 nights. We upgraded to a superior room. Very large room and lovely view. Staff were friendly. I would only have to say that the hotel is a bit tired and in need of a refurb, otherwise everything was fine. The meal in the restaurant in the evening was very nice.

Stayed for two nights. A decent hotel. Clean spacious room, friendly courteous staff, good food. Drinks a bit pricey but you expect this in a hotel. The negatives were relatively minor but important since they prevent this from being described as a very good hotel. Service in all departments a bit slow (understaffed?). Pots/glasses slow to be cleared from bar/lounge...
