Unfortunately we were seated in the bar area instead of the restaurant which on a Saturday night was busy and very noisy at times. The main course was nice. But it was lovely to be taken out by myfamily.

Booked for Mothers Day and was a bit concerned as I've been to various places in previous years and been disappointed as generally it's been overbooked and poor quality - I needn't have worried, even though it was extremely busy at The Lion everything was perfect - the staff were very friendly, helpful and well organised, they also looked very...

Called into the lion for a family meal for 8 lovely atmosphere and food was great what we call good 'Pub grub' week cooked and presented with good portions but not extremely expensive. We had booked in advance ( would recommend!) and had a room to ourselves with excellent service nothing to much trouble esp with two young children. So...

After a few visits to the Lion Hotel we have come to the conclusion that the Lion delivers constantly good food, so give it a try. We have taken friends for a meal with us who feel the same about the Hotel .

Positives: Central location, free plentiful parking, busy popular public pub / bar with good food downstairs. Great public areas, modern decor. Wonderful staff, including bar, waiting and reception, nothing was too much trouble ,they made for a lovely stay. Great breakfast. Everywhere very clean. Lows: Noisy main road and single glazing . Some rooms are definately better than others as...

We've been plenty of times and we've always had a good time. The Hotel is in a great central location. Park in the ample car park and everything can be reached on foot. I guess there's 20 rooms and it retains a family-run feel. Restaurant is good but there's plenty of places in walking distance

I regularly go to have lunch with my husband as the service is good, staff are friendly, food is always fresh and delicious. The kids are always made welcome and like coming here for a treat to have freshly made pizzas from the pizza oven. The courtyard looks stunning when the hanging baskets are out and is perfect for drinks...

This was the first time I had eaten at this Hotel. I went with an open mind having not read any previous reviews about it. As there were 4 in our party, the following comments are those of my own, but are very much shared by my wife too. My starter was smoked kipper pate with toast and a small...

As a local of Belper I have dined and drank on and off in The Lion Hotel over the years . But the new refurbished Lion Hotel is the best place to dine and have a beer in Belper . They have a great choice of food , especially the pizzas and a great choice of beers . The atmosphere...
