Ate here a couple of nights and my son was really impressed. Lovely open fire in the main bar area, but this could be a little small if busy. As I visited in February there was always space to sit near the fire. Food is very good and service excellent. I did not stay overnight at this hotel.

I phoned several days in advance to book a table for my family dinner here as we were visiting Castleton. Was told on phone that table only free from 7pm so booked that. Arrived to find they had no record of the booking and no space. The girl on reception was unapologetic and didn't seem to care that I was...

We went to Castleton for day a trip out and remembered a friend recommended Ye Old Nags Head so we nipped for lunch. The pub is quite large but still has a cosy feel. There is a large very old open fire and interesting corners to sit in and a beautiful bar. There's a function room and accommodation with some...

Six of us visited for Sunday lunch (4 adults & 2 kids). The menu was varied and there was a good choice of specials too. I was particularly impressed that there were a variety of sausages on offer and a choice of mashed potato flavoured with different things. The kids menu was also good and there was a colouring activity...

We made a stop after visiting one of the caverns of the area, was in a cold day of January and we found this warm place for a small meal. It has some nice and big fireplaces. There I have eaten one of the best pizzas in England, in general the food comes very fast and it is tasty. Recommend...

When we go to Castleton we always eat at this pub, as the food is excellent, there is always a specials board, as well as the normal menu. They also do a takeaway menu of pizzas. We decided this time we would stay here too. We shall return. The staff are very friendly. Our room was good. Tea & coffee...

Easily the best pub in Castleton. I challenge anyone to leave still feeling hungry ! Great value meals in man-sized portions, and 7 real ales on. Excellent value accommodation too. Looking forward to our next visit 😀🍺
