Eaten here numerous times over the last few years. We keep returning because the food and service were good. Not so anymore. We booked a table for 8pm but when we arrived our name was crossed off the list and someone else was at our table. There were no others free so a table was hastily squeezed into a corner....

One of the advantages of pubs with rooms is that you don't pay stupid prices for drinks. Find me a hotel that offers 35ml of single malt whisky for £4.00! The Plough is a good place to stay if you are exploring the Peak District or have business in South Yorkshire. The whole place is very clean and the rooms...

Disappointing seafood laksa for dinner. Obviously the chef has never had a real laksa. Pouring a bland sauce over fried fish does NOT make a laksa. Good friendly service, but there are several better value options nearby. Very average parfait to follow. Won't be returning.

I stayed here for one night on business, room number six. The room was well appointed and the bed and bedding where great, a fan wouldn't go amiss as the window is very small and the room was quite warm over night, the bathroom was excellent. Wifi despite being free was completely useless in the room although fine in the...

The first time we gave the service a pass. The 2nd time was worse. All of the staff seem to be in training, and the manager's focus is who knows where....Food is average and overpriced for what it is. There will not be a 3rd time, so many other better options in the area.

Spent a night here while travelling back to London. Received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our room. Room was on the front of the pub - a bit small and a bit noisy but was perfectly comfortable. Dinner at £26 for 3 courses was very good value although I was a bit disappointed to have to pay...

We checked in at the bar on a busy Sunday afternoon and were shown to our room in the main building. Although not large, the room was very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The mackerel starter was pronounced delicious (if a little on the small side - but the main course portions were...

We were part of a walking group of twelve friends who stayed here for three nights in April. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom surprisingly large and efficient. The bed and bedlinen were excellent and everywhere was spotless. We had a large table in the restaurant and we were looked after to perfection by Bob and his staff....

Often visit the Plough for lunch. Meat pie is the best and scampi lovely too. Very good menu but have just found the menus at eg Easter a bit too fancy. Wine by the glass is pricy. Very friendly staff. Surprised given our bill however before we had asked for it by one of the owners.
