I stayed here with my partner recently whilst visiting friends in the area as I used to live in Derby for 34 years and now live in Suffolk. The coach house is a lovely old building and has immaculate gardens back and front. We were greeted on arrival with a warm welcome from the owner Beverley. Our room was spotlessly clean, with an enormous bed and lovely white bed linen. The room was tastefully decorated with oak furniture and an ensuite bathroom, with all the toiletries you could wish for. Cotton buds and cotton face pads too if you have forgotten your own. There was a Hair dryer and Ironing board in the room, television, free Wi-Fi. The tea tray was full of different coffees tea and sweet treats which were all yummy. Breakfast the following morning was a perfectly cooked, piping hot full English, with excellent quality, locally sourced ingredients. There is fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts, juice, home-made jam, and bottles of water. There is nothing to want for. (My gluten intolerant partner was also well catered for) Beverley is a perfect host and is so easy to get on with. It is so nice to be able to chat to people you have just met and feel like you have known them for years. I have travelled a lot over the years and am very critical, but honest. I have to say that we had a perfect nights sleep and did not leave hungry. If you want to stay somewhere in a nice little village with plenty to see, close to the city and local amenities in a place that feels like a home from home. (but you don't have to do the washing up or make your own bed) then this is the place for you. I am at a loss to think of anything else we could have wanted! Excellent all round and definitely one to return to.…
Excellent b&b spent two nights to go to wedding. Would recommend any one to stay here wonderful hostess. Great bedrooms very clean and tidy great amount of tea, coffee in room. Wonderful breakfast you dont go hungry. If in area would book this again you will not find better for the money.
On a return visit to picturesque Derbyshire village Melbourne we stayed for the first time at The Coach House on the main street. This is a small guest house, clean and comfortable, with just six rooms but a big welcome from owner Beverley and an easy, enjoyable stay on offer. Our room was traditional and pleasant and the siting of The Coach House at the quieter end f the main street ideal for our visit to Melbourne Hall's annual comedy festival a brisk 10-minute walk away. What marks this guest house as outstanding though was the breakfast - plenty of choices, basically all you can eat and nice touches like fresh bread, butter in big slices in a pot, jams and marmalade and plenty of toast. We went for a full English and weren't disappointed - tasty bacon and sausage, beans and tomato and I opted for scrambled egg which was plentiful, light and fluffy. Beverley is friendly and pleasant and we really enjoyed our stay. We'll be back next year - if not before - and feel reassured of another lovey stay.…
I stayed here with my teenage daughter whilst visiting my father for a couple of days in May. The room was lovely and clean, the beds comfy, the bathroom was perfect and the little touches like the biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities were the cherry on the cake. The breakfast was delicious - good choice and quality products, cooked, grilled or fried upon request! Only slight negative is the lack of easy parking - we found a quiet street a short stroll away from the hotel and left our car there without a problem.
I've have been staying at The Coach House for a number of years to attend motorsport events at Donington Park and every stay has been perfect. Beverley is the perfect host and always makes you feel welcome and is happy to assist with anything (even supplying garden wire to fix some tent poles during a previous stay). The breakfast is great and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. I always tell everyone I know what a lovely place it is to stay so thought I would put this online too. Looking forward to mu next stay in July already.
We stayed at The Coach House and it was faultless Beverley the hostess was brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us The rooms are very large and spotlessly clean and everything you could wish for is supplied. We couldn’t think of anything that was not To finish our time with a fantastic breakfast all from local ingredients We found this place faultless and it’s been a very long time since I have been able to say that
I stayed here for a couple of nights with my grandson who is a vegan. The rooms were perfectly prepared and have very comfortable beds. Our hostess, Beverly, did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable, gave us very useful local information and bought in non-dairy milk especially for my grandson’s breakfast. I highly recommend The Coach House as a place to stay in Melbourne.
I have stayed here many times over the years. Very handy off street parking, very clean, comfy beds with excellent duvet. The owners are very nice and attentive people. I cannot comment on the breakfast, as I'm never up on time 😂, but I'm sure it's lovely.
I stayed here with a good friend, at very short notice, en route to staying with family close by. I had stayed here several times many years ago. Happily it is still run by lovely Beverley, who gives you a warm welcome and she has kept up her very high standards of hospitality. There is nothing that Beverley hasn’t thought about in her immaculate rooms. The breakfast is delicious and contains everything you would want and is cooked to order. 6 stars Beverley and many thanks.
Single lady who came on her own, made to feel VERY welcome/ Room was roomy, warm and bed was huge! Breakfast was amazing! Great location, easy and free parking. Would happily come and stay again, and certainly recommend.
