Met by very friendly , attentive and accommodating staff. The room was immaculately clean with tea, coffee and biscuits. The food we had at the restaurant in the pub and a few second walk from our room was absolutely amazing. Our every need was taken care of swiftly and efficiently. We would most definitely come back and it’s so convenient for East Midlands Airport.

I stayed one night for business. Food was basic, good quality and goo portion size. Room was large, clean and had all I needed. The night I stayed there was a crow scarer going off all night, not the pubs fault but it did mean my sleep was interrupted. Breakfast was good. Thank you for having me.

Stayed a night in one of the rooms, given keys not shown to room - bit of a welcome after a 3.5 hour journey up. Found room to be greeted by numerous spiders and webs around the corners of the room. Poor interior, very out of date but room had obviously not been cleaned. A hoover would’ve done the job! Bathroom out of date and mould in the shower. Peeled back the duvet to climb into my bed to find mould on my bedsheets and pillows that were thin and uncomfortable. 100% would not recommend and won’t be coming back.

We visited here as a family with my parents for Sunday lunch. The outside of the pub is really pretty with all the flowers and the bumble bees floating around the lavender. The pub has a nice, homey feel and staff were really friendly. The Sunday lunch was really nice, we thought more vegetables could have been served but other than that the meat was great and was nice and hot and fresh. The 3 starters on offer were a bit boring which was a shame. The main thing that let's this place down for us is the fact that dogs are allowed in! They can't go in the restaurant part but they are still in a walk through where the waitress has to walk with your food. For us, this is a real turn off in any eatery. Not a fan of dogs shaking their hair where food is being served!!!

We spent a great Saturday night at the Hardinge arms. The double room was spacious with a king size bed. Clean, quiet and well provided. The only fault was that the carpet was a bit raggy, but who's worried about that? We met the friendly locals at early doors, then ate in the restaurant. What a pleasant surprise, beautiful fish and chips at very reasonable prices. Top off with great beer and you've got a perfect weekend. Don't tell too many, in case it's booked up when we want to go back!

Really nice bar, friendly informative welcome from James. Lots of people were eating their in the evening we didn’t have a evening meal as we had stopped on our journey down to Derby to eat. The restaurant was very busy. In the morning we had an excellent cooked breakfast. The room was absolutely fine, oldie worlde clean and comfortable. We had twin beds with very comfortable mattresses, tea and coffee facilities and a good size bathroom with a shower, heating as well as free WiFi and a flat screen telly, on the whole our stay was very pleasant and if in Derby again will stay there again

This is a simply ran pub. Plain and casual atmosphere. Dated decor but adequate. I liked the historical artefacts on the wall dating back over 100 years. Feels oldy worldy and a proper locals pub. Service a bit odd but friendly enough. Chairs a bit hard and very squeaky. Food was great. Prices were perfect. Absolutely loved my pie slice and veggies with creamy mash. I want to go back again for it!!! Only £10 for pie and drink and the portion was so big i couldn’t finish it. Definitely recommend.

We had arranged to meet two of our friends for a snack lunch. We had looked at the menu on their website and were looking forward to ordering what we had seen, but on arrival we were given a single sheet menu on which most of the dishes on offer were totally different........... interestingly enough they were also all, less expensive. I ordered the 8oz burger which was good enough in itself, however the home made chips were terrible, soggy and generally limp! My wife had a chicken burger which she greatly enjoyed, one of my friends had gammon and chips which he liked and his wife had a veggie burger which she said was very good. The man behind the bar who was I believe the landlord (as I could see him opening the post) was pleasant enough but hardly oozing with charm or warmth. Personally I wouldn't bother to go here again, but I might be persuaded by my wife and friends to do so.
