This is a small B&B. I'd worry that it might feel too small - a bit intrusive or confined. In fact, it's a gem - partly because it's a lovely old house, and partly because the owners go out of their way to put guests at ease. We arrived to tea and homemade cake. The beautiful light sitting-room was ours...

Thanks for your very positive comments which we very much appreciate. There are many b&b s in the Peak District , all of different sizes and styles. We choose to offer just 2 rooms for our guests as it allows a quieter and more relaxed space for all to enjoy. During the cooler months, we keep the fire lit in...

Thank you very much for a very prompt review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Its always interesting to know what brings guests here, and climbing courses , is a new one for us . As you saw, though the main climbing area is deeper into the Peaks, but the distance easily covered and no...

We had an extremely warm welcome from Simon and Helena and enjoyed a pot of tea and homemade cake. We originally had booked 2 nights but then rang to stay for a 3rd night. We spent 2 nights in the bedroom en suite which faced the front garden and then the main road. We are not use to traffic and...

Thank you both very much - it was a pleasure to share our home with you and your family via skype !! We appreciate the review very much especially as you stayed in both rooms after deciding to extend your stay. It is not often one comes across an exceptionally good B and B with the added bonus of really friendly and helpful hosts. The old nursery house has both of these qualities to excess! The house itself is beautifully proportioned, has lovely décor and a great situation with super views. It has a lovely garden with places to sit and...

My wife and I had two nights in this B&B recently. It is extremely comfortable and the breakfasts are excellent. Helena and her family are very friendly and helpful. Only 15 minutes from Chatsworth and Haddon Hall it is very well situated . I have no hesitation at all in recommending this B&B.

G'day to our Aussie guests ! Thank you for staying with us - I was very impressed to hear that you were taught to make poached eggs at school! Though my knees always shake at the thought of getting my poached to be pretty and correctly cooked - - you have managed to teach an old dog new tricks !!...

As has been said before, both Helena and Simon went out of their way ( or perhaps it is just their way ) to make us feel very welcome, as you would treat friends and not customers.
