I would have given The Hoste a five star rating, but for one issue. I would have given it a one star rating, but for the intervention of a conscientious manager. This is a fine hotel - except when it comes to following up on problems or complaints. Whilst it is expensive, it is also clean and comfortable, and most...

Spent four nights at the Hotel. Reception staff (especially Rosie) provide a warm and friendly welcome, as do the Waiting Staff (especially Florin). We stayed at the old Railway Station and found the room to be adequate but somewhat dark. The room was 'compact' but had all the required facilities. The 800m walk to the Hotel for breakfast was fine...

We have visited The Hoste for over 15 years so we have experienced its evolution. It was a really enjoyable visit this November and it all started from minute one - the receptionist welcomed us warmly, took us to our chosen room and checked with us that all was ok. As we had the room we requested we were very...

We visited with our dog so were staying in the Railway Annex which is a couple minute walk from the main hotel. The room was a good size and was well laid out and clean, finished to a high standard. It is a great positive dogs are allowed. In the evening we went for drinks in the bar (good selection)...

I booked a two night stay to celebrate my partner's birthday in late November. I mentioned this when booking and was delighted to find a plate of petits fours and a birthday card from The Hoste in our room when we arrived. We hadn't visited the area for pleasure before and made the most of our 2+ days there. As...

Booked this hotel through Mr & Mrs Smith as I had a voucher to spend. It was the best of 'their hotels' I have tried. The welcome at reception started well. We were staying in The Vine House across the road. (Sounds odd but, was quiet and is a beautifully appointed house) our room was to the rear which was...

We stayed in the luxury railway carriage which was lovely, only one criticism it was quite a walk from the hotel.the restaurant was good and staff very friendly.I think perhaps a shuttle service for clients who need to go to the hotel from the railway carriage

Stayed for a three night mid-week break so was able to book a package at a good price but better still, when we arrived, we were offered an upgrade (to a 'Divine' room) for a nominal cost. It certainly was divine. The service here was excellent with very attentive, polite staff. We dined in the restaurant on two evenings and...
