Detailed Reviews
We took our dog Chloe for her first trip away 2 weeks ago and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Ruth is a wonderful host and her and Mellie the poodle make both humans and dogs feel very welcome. We stayed in the Swedish Suite which is large, very comfortable and has a spa bath in a very big bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic and set in a lovely open room where it is easy to meet and mingle with the other guests. The Lodge is set in beautiful gardens with a closed off area for dogs to run around. We loved the peace of the surroundings and Chloe enjoyed her explorations! If you are thinking of taking your pup you will need to contact Ruth first to advise her that you are travelling with your pet.

Bundanoon Lodge is a little gem tucked away in the tiny village of Bundanoon. Located about 1km from a quaint Tudor Style pub, the Lodge is a delight for that short break. Its hosts Ruth and Melly (Ruth's poodle), ensure your stay is just lovely. Full breakfasts include home-made bread; freshly cooked rhubarb and bacon and eggs as you like it. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with individual heating and cooling; The two lounge room areas, include open fireplaces and comfortable furniture. The lodge is graced by birdlife and lovely grounds.

We traveled with two other couples for a midweek break in the Southern Highlands. The Lodge is very comfortable with plenty of living room space for us to gather with our friends both inside and outside. The homemade bread for breakfast and fruit compotes were a lovely touch to a filling breakfast including cereals, fruit, bacon and eggs, avocado and tomato. We would recommend a visit to Ruth and her pooch Mellie. They will make you very welcome!

We had a 3 day 2 night visit to the Southern Highlands from Sydney. Arriving mid afternoon there is very direction to enter the Lodge , fill in your registration, grab your keys and settle into your room. The Lodge is like a large house with as sitting room and large open kitchen/ dining-breakfast area. All very open and airy. Our room on the ground floor and was huge. Double doors open onto the terrace and the gardens. We had a kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave, kettle etc). Things like milk juice, ironing board etc are in the main area of the 'Lodge'. Our good fortune the weather report was wrong and we had blessed weather for out stay. The Lodge is and reasonably easy 10 min walk to the Bundanoon Hotel (great community atmosphere and 'beer garden'- note both Hotel and Lodge are pet friendly). We did not spend time in the communal lounge we did sit on the terrace an enjoyed the view of the gardens.

We stayed in the English Room, very spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. There were ample communal areas throughout the lodge, including a well stocked library and wrap around balcony overlooking the gardens. Ruth was a great host, friendly and welcoming, and provided a hearty breakfast of fruit/cereal/ bacon and eggs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Bundanoon Lodge. Ruth (and Millie) made us feel so welcome. The lodge has a warm, cozy, friendly atmosphere. All of the rooms have been thoughtfully decorated in different themes and the whole place has a French Provincial feel set in the beautiful Southern Highlands. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning. We loved staying in the Swedish Room. Ruth was more than helpful with information about the local area and provided us with a hearty breakfast that kept us going until the afternoon. We rebooked to return in April and we are looking forward to our next stay. This is a hidden gem.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bundanoon Lodge. As soon as you walk in we knew we were staying in a luxury accommodation. The room we stayed in was the Tuscan Room which was large, clean and well appointed. There was a spacious wardrobe, fridge and kitchenette and a door out to a balcony. There is a beautiful large Lounge room with a fire place, and tv with many dvds to choose from. In addition, there is another large lounge area so guests can find their own space to relax. The breakfast offered is exceptional. Ruth certainly makes you feel welcome and we really enjoyed her hospitality. Look forward to returning in the future.

This is a lovely place and the host, Ruth, was very welcoming and produced wonderful breakfasts. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the things you need, including a mini kitchen. The surrounding grounds and gardens were beautiful and it was a very peaceful place to stay.
There were two downsides for me (and these are why I have given four stars instead of five): first is that there was way too much air freshener (those smelly stick things in jars) in the rooms, corridors, and common areas, so I cannot recommend this place for anyone who has asthma or other respiratory issues. I spent two days with blocked sinuses and an irritated throat. I know many people don't have to worry about this, but I also know there are a lot of people for whom a fragrance-free environment is really important.
The other minor issue is that there was no iron in the room. The only available iron was housed in the office which was not very convenient.
For anyone who has no problem with an over-abundance of fragrance, it is a truly lovely place to stay and I can highly recommend it.

We had a brilliant stay. Ruth is absolutely fantastic & the quality of the breakfast was wonderful.
We couldn’t recommend this place enough- we took our dog Archie & he was very much welcomed.
Perfect for a family / couple / solo stay in the southern highlands.
The lodge is walking distance into Bundanoon with great cafes / restaurants and pubs.. there are also some lovely parks surrounding the grounds.
Thank you for your hospitality Ruth.

The Lodge has a resident dog and for that reason, I believe, pets are not welcome. I think?
