My partner and I stayed at Allawah when in Northern Qld to visit family. Our first impressions were hesitant - we had expected beautiful rainforest rather than rural bush setting, but the property itself was a pleasant surprise. For 4 days we drank wine, sat in the spa bath, enjoyed the freshly baked bread and totally relaxed. It was a...

Whilst driving on the dirt outback roads which is such a lovely drive to make you feel you are arriving to the hinterlands and about to enjoy peace and quiet we arrive and we immediately felt at home and comfortable. We were welcomed like we had never been done so before, we were taken to our lodge and shown through....

As a person for whom only the best will do - this property fit the bill. I stayed in their Hideaway Lodge and it was a wonderful experience. Allawah Retreat was everything it advertised itself to be - private and luxurious. The property consists of four lodges - or chalets - or whatever term you would like to apply. Each...

My husband & I stayed at Hideaway Lodge from 23/03/09 - 30/03/09 on a 32-day trip from the UK. It was everything we had hoped for & more. So peaceful & private; we enjoyed our stay in this perfect Lodge so much, we were very reluctant to go on to Sydney. The retreat is situated in unspoilt, natural grounds with...

We visited Allawah Retreat over the weekend (June 19-21, 2009) and can't wait to tell all our friends about it. It was honestly the most relaxing weekend we have ever had. The cabin we chose was the Hideway, but there are three others to choose from. Breakfast is provided along with Trish's fresh (hot) home made bread. Trish can also...

Even though my partner and I were only 15 minutes away from home it was the perfect getaway for a few days. Everything was at your fingertips and our hosts Trish and Peter thought of everything. Hideaway lodge was wonderfully set out with nice furnishings and all the mod cons. The lodges were set far enough apart that you didn't...

The one bedroom cottage we rented was fully equipped for self-catering with supplies to prepare a full English breakfast including hot bread. From our deck and hot tub we could contemplate the beautiful views and watch the wildlife. Our hosts, Trish & Pete were extremely helpful and accommodating. This is a great spot for touring the Atherton Tablelands or just...

We have just spent 4 nights in the Hideaway lodge at Allawah Retreat to rest, relax and explore the Atherton Tablelands/Cairns Highlands area. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The service, cleanliness and attention to detail were all top notch! As other reviews have noted, the lodge itself is well presented and is kept immaculately...

My partner and I have just returned from the most perfect birthday getaway at Allawah. We were lucky enough to stay in the best room, Hideaway. The room was perfect, beautiful layout, furniture, views etc. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed, its nice to know there are still places like Allawah Retreat that actually exist. I would recommend...

'Absolutely Outstanding' does not go near how fantastic this place is. Settle in for a lengthy read and I shall tell you why... We are a couple (33 & 40 yrs old) with 2 young children and once a year we take a short break to have time together, away from work, from focusing on being 'Mummy and Daddy' and...
