Just had two nights in a very comfortable room. A few red wines by the pool. Very North Queensland with convenient parking at the door. The owners are very informative on the area and what's happening and where to eat.

Facilities are basic but the staff is very friendly and the place has a homely feel about it. Well priced and located not far from the town centre. Not 5 star by any means but clean and tidy. I would stay again. Marcus

Terrible place to stay. I was nearly dry reaching when scrubbing the fridge clean enough to use. Is owned by cooktown mayor & his wife - I thought they would have a higher standards. Sliding door is hard to close & curtains r being held together by the dirt. Back door also jams. If they spent a couple of K...

We had a three room apartment, - kitchen/bathroom and a spacious 2 bed (double & single bedroom/living room Our host was attentive/helpful and friendly however everything was spoilt by the standard of cleanliness in the kitchen where the shelving was coated with grease as was the stove. Holes in the fly screens also detracted from the presentation We were advised...

Took a chance after reading some reviews on Trip Advisor that seemed quite positive, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Located in a nice quiet area of town, with the rooms well away from the street, so you'll get a good night sleep. The room was fully self contained - everything you need from plates & cutlery to toaster & microwave,...

What a gem of a place! Absolute magic! Tranquil, relaxed and friendly atmosphere with beautiful lush tropical style gardens. Quiet and peaceful but with shops close by. Good parking, lovely pool and bbq area and just a beautiful place to stay. My mate and i had an overnight stay on our way up to Cape York and enjoyed it so...

We stay here quite often. Nothing is too much trouble for Sayah and Peter, who treat each guest like a personal friend, with many of them as return customers (so a few of them told me). Close to town with loads of parking areas near the rooms. Love the self contained flat unit where we usually stay, however the motel...

Well cyclones do have a habit of disrupting the smooth run of things...but happy to say we've just returned from a two week stay at the Alamanda Inn in Cooktown and everything is back to normal. We've lost count of the number of times we've returned to stay with our hosts Peter and Sayah Scott, but it's always the same....
