Upon arriving at the Bungalow Bay YHA we went to the kitchen since we were too early to check in and started asking people if the air conditioning was good here since it was so hot. We found out through other guests that there were certain rooms without air conditioning. With that being our number one priority since my sister...

The camp ground here isn't anything flash but it's probably the only place on the island you can pitch a tent. Magnetic Island itself is fantastic and of course with only 10 from one end of the island (Horseshoe Bay) to Picnic Bay, everything is in reach. We got an online deal through Tropical Travel in Townsville for 2 adults...

The facilities were great eg. Pool, reception, bar and chills area. But the toilets.... Probably the worst we have seen along the Qld coast so far. They are dirty have dead bugs everywhere 2/5 toilets out of order and 2 more that don't close the doors properly. The lady that greeted us was very sketchy on the details of the...

Horrible breakfast, most things were burnt, fruit lasted for maybe the first 2 people through, animal life was minimal. Waited over half an hour before being ushered through for breakfast, finally got to see a Koala after breakfast and was rushed though like the Koala was a pass the parcel game.

This is such a shame as the actually place is lovely. It has a well designed bar area, reception and pool (with inflatable swans!). However the toilets and shower blocks are filthy... Mould up the walls, not cleaned, rubbish everywhere and thousands of bugs! There is no screens on doors or windows so they are swarming with creepy crawlies. I...

We stayed here for 2 nights and this was a good amount of time. The bungalows have air-conditioning which is essential and a small fridge. They arent clean but the bed linnen was so we were happy. The bathrooms were fine enough. The kitchen was always spotless and was also well equipped. They have a good pool/bar area. We didnt...

I stayed here for two nights in January which was more than enough. The dorm/bungalow was stifling hot making it impossible to be in there until it cooled in the evenings. There was only two plugs for eight people and they were in the bathroom so not easily accessible all the time. Bar was fine but food choices were a...

We did the 2hour tour of the park. I did this and billabong sanctuary and enjoyed both as they offer different animal experiences. The only negative points here are the tour guide has no microphone and cannot be heard most of the time- their camera was also broken yet the koala holding experience was still full price despite not getting...

I upgraded my room to a 6 bed dorm as the 8 beds had no aircon...in North Queensland...(!) the bungalows themselves are clean and in a good state of repair, but the rest of the park isn't great. The pool doesn't appear to be cleaned...currently watching a band aid float around in there. The bar/cafe offers food but the selection...
