The hotel has friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is also nice and clean. The pool is quite large and shaded for those hot days in Longreach. We ate at the restaurant which the food was not that good.
We had an Executive King room and it was very quiet, roomy and comfortable. There is a bar, beer garden & swimming pool. The restaurant was 5 star - delicious food and good service. There was a microwave & electric jug in the room and...More

2 days is not enough time to spend in the beautiful part of the country. But how long is enough time.....well that depends on the individual. The Stockmans Hall of Fame is great and so too is QANTAS. Spend some time at the coffee shops and meet plenty of locals. Ask if they would take you to a cattle station where you will experience the REAL bush. I was in Townsville yesterday and by chance met an old lady sitting on a park bench. She looked lonely so I spoke with her. What a surpirse!! She was not lonely, she was in Townsville with her grangchildren, all the way from Winton (which is near Longreach and worth a visit). These people have some much to tell us "City folk", it will blow your mind to listen to them as they tell teir stories of fun and laughter and sorror. They are the salt of the Earth, the Gems of the Outback, the people all of us need to meet. Please spend some time with the locals. Ask Lloyd at the Stockman's (CEO) to help you meet some locals. Hes a nice friendly fellow, or talk to Sue at the BP. I hope this helps.
