Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat provides the rare combination of wilderness and luxury. Its quiet seclusion in a rainforest setting is unique beyond description. Peta greeted us with a warm welcome and is really a lovely and helpful person. She provided great insight into where to go and what to do at their retreat as well as throughout the Atherton Tablelands....

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to Rose Gums and that you were lucky enough to see the platypus and Lumholtz tree kangaroo, very special indeed. It is our pleasure to welcome guests from all over the world and to help them make the most of their visit to the Cairns hinterland. There really is something for...

Rose Gums was a delight. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights. The room was lovely with magnificent views. We enjoyed making our own breakfast after nearly 2 weeks of hotel breakfasts. We ate in the restaurant on both nights and each had good meals. The owners were helpful with ideas of where to go and what to see. We...

Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We often hear that 2 nights is just not enough to enjoy the rare and special experience of being surrounded by your own piece of rainforest, let alone having the time to take in the many nearby attractions available here on the tablelands. Hopefully, you...

It's rare to review any place that you literally can't think of anything negative to say. Rose Gums is unique in this way and much more. There is arguably no equivalent in Australia to Rose Gums. The hand-made treehouse made by owner John, a builder, are first class. Where else can you lie in bed, looking out over a misty...

What a terrific review from one who clearly enjoys the natural environment, thank you! Great ticks to see the Topknot Pidgeons, Eastern Whipbird and the Platypus, all of which are notably shy. The special one though, is the Tooth-billed Bowerbird, which is endemic to the tablelands but hard to find. Such a review makes our efforts worthwhile, truly heartwarming, thank...

Cannot say enough about how amazing this place is. Jon and Peta have brought the land back to life with the rainforest they have grown and it is so incredibly peaceful being surrounded by the chorus of birds. The accommodation is beautiful and has everything you need. The food in the restaurant is also amazing and the chef and staff...

Rose Gums offers high quality accommodation, in a small number of tree houses (log cabins) in a very secluded location (double check your directions before leaving home!). There are only a small number of cabins = not many guests = very private. The 2-night experience was absolutely brilliant. The accommodation was breathtaking, and completely blew us away! The walking trails...

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Rose Gums and have taken the time to give us such a wonderful review, thank you.
