My wife and I visited Silky Oaks as our last destination on our recent holiday to Australia. After all the travelling it was an absolute delight to spend 5 nights at Silky Oaks. It exudes an aura of tranquility from the moment you arrive. It is spectacularly located within the Daintree Forest, you can do as much or as little...

We stayed here in early October and the weather was perfect. When we arrived the hotel receptionist gave us a tour and the porter took our bags to the room. We had the cutest little bungalow up in the trees, right down the end away from the hustle and bustle of reception. The room was immaculately presented, a hammock on...

Beautiful setting, well equipped room (No 10) with great views over river & billabong. Crazy Bush Turkey with his harem scratching round room all day. Interesting nature walk with knowledgeable Erin. Pleasant & attentive staff. Breakfast excellent, lunch & dinner poor. We had disappointing dinner first day, fish not cooked properly & major let down on first course. We ate...

We arrived to a warm welcome and found the room to be well appointed with large balcony and rainforest view. The activities were very broad and well thought out. The package we took included breakfast only (which was excellent, but did not include other meals) Dinner was somewhat limited, with only 3 entrees, which included raw tuna, pork or kangaroo...

We take our friends to Silky Oaks Lodge every year for afternoon tea. A wonderful location in Far North Queensland and enroute to the Daintree. While we have not stayed at the hotel we would certainly recommend it to our friends.

We were struck by the natural beauty of this place as soon as you enter the Lodge. The main facilities were perfectly blended so that you felt like you were part of the Rainforest. The accommodations also were built that way which put you into a tranquil mood. The staff of the Lodge were generally helpful so that our check...

We (two adults, kids 15 and 10) hesitated given the price tag but this is a truly beautiful patch of the world. The grounds are serene and the river amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food delicious. For high end restaurant was a bit surprised that the wait staff seemed in experienced but they were eager to please. Would love...

We have just had a wonderful 3 days at Silky Oaks, the tree houses are set into the rainforest and along the river which is awesome, 3 teenagers and they could wander up and down the river and walks from the main area. The river houses are equipped very well and abundance of swimming towels and fresh bath towels makes...

Having employed all the usual female logic -- birthday treat, haven't been away for ages, exhausted -- I must admit to still feeling a little doubtful about value-for-money as I pressed the Silky Oaks booking button. But when, a couple of hours into our stay, my husband suggested extending our booking for a third night, I knew we were onto...
