We arrived just as a wild storm hit.. The manageress was super helpful providing shelter for our frightened dog. The room was clean comfortable and stylish. The bed was comforftable and we enjoyed a cold drink and hot meal inthe evening. Unfortunately the storm forced cancellation of the evening chook races. Maybe next time. A great place to stay in...

We called in for a drink one Sunday afternoon, and in no time we were caught up in the "Chook Races" held in the beer garden. The Manager needs to be congratulated on his wonderful initiative to raise money for local charities by introducing the"Chook Race", and it certainly was a lot of fun. We decided to stay on for...

Lovely art deco surrounds - loved it! Wish we could have stayed longer than the one night. In the heart of the city was easy to walk to everything. Great bar and great service. If you love art deco style then I highly recommend a stay here.

We walked over to the hotel for drinks and then dinner. The hotel is old and beautiful. We sat in the lounge having drinks when we were told the chicken races were due to start. New for us. We took our drinks into the courtyard and was introduced to chicken racing. Each bird was auctioned off to the highest bidder....

I'd 100% recommend this hotel to anyone doing a long trip south or north! Stay hear rather than Longreach! Hotel is a lovely old building, which has had a proper renovation! Rooms are better than I'd ever expected. Aircon Icy cold. Bathrooms are massive. But best of all sensational mattresses on the beds. I never hit snooze on my alarm...

Really friendly staff, room was a bit tired and dated, chicken race was really funny and all monies raised went to local charities so please bid high for your chicken, was assured Opal was a sure bet but she got nowhere. Food was priced ok and quality ok. Receptionist very friendly. If passing through would stay again for the night.

Winton, centred around the North Gregory Hotel, offered much more than was originally expected. The hotel possesses an old world charm and is managed and run by people who make you feel like part of their extended family. The accommodations are comfortable, and the food is good. To top it off, the evening chicken races, run to raise money for...

We were very disappointed with our dinner at this hotel. The meals served were not as detailed on menu. We're not told that there were no yabbies or red craw, both these dishes were ordered specifically for these and when dishes arrived absent of these the waitress said we should have been told. None of us enjoyed our meals at...
