The Anchorage is a charming old hotel, with beautiful sea frontage and parks all within eyesight, well situated with shops, restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. The old 'steam engine' train station is just across the road and you can see the train coming in and out from the balcony. The staff is welcoming, extremely helpful and polite. The foreshore...

The room was smallest I have ever had to pay for no place to put your bags no wardrobe just three coat hangers on two hooks on the wall. We required a en suite, this had a curtain for the door. A fan was supplied for cooling , but if you plugged it in you wouldn't have been able to...

Great location, friendly staff and amazing food in the cafe. Accomodation quaint and comfortable. Booked an upstairs heritage corner room with balcony access. However, balcony access was across the hallway from our room and the table and chairs on the balcony were located directly outside a window of the room opposite ours. Awkward!

The room lived up to the standard of the beautiful hotel. It had old world touches and was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit tricky to get to the towels behind the door and the toilet was on the other side of the room but this just added to its charm. Lots of different bathroom supplies including shaver kit....

Our family stayed here for a night as we had a funeral to attend. It wasn't for a long holiday so the accommodation was comfortable and clean. I asked for a balcony room which we got but it was right on the end, not on the front and was roped off so we couldn't walk in front of the other...

We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay at The Anchorage Hotel overlooking the seafront memorial park and beach in the autumn sunshine. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and genuinely so, not just trained to say, 'Have a nice day'. We felt immediately at ease, opting for a room with access to the front balcony, and with a shared...

I was only after a bed for the night in Victor, convenient location, inexpensive, and clean and friendly. From booking to checkout the whole process was easy. Room 16 was clean and all the basic amenities were there, a welcome for a weary traveler! My only regret was that I couldn't spend more time there, so I will be back.

The decor is quite shabby, carpet Ill fitting, with lots of bumps in it, a tripping hazard. The bathroom was clean. Balcony should have been a lovely place to sit and relax, with a view over the water, but the outdooor furniture was old and rickety, canvas on back of chairs was ripped. This could be a lovely hotel, with...
