Detailed Reviews
Unable to stay at friends due to Covid, our family of 7 stayed here for a one night stopover in the Cleveland suburbs. We had adjoining rooms - one with two queen beds and one with a king plus a couch that pulled out. We added a cot (the rooms were very spacious), and everyone had a good sleeping arrangement. There was ample desk space and the showers were solid. The lobby is large, with individual booths for eating (with their own TV screens), although they do not serve free breakfast. The staff was extremely, extremely friendly and helpful. Their Covid-related measures were very much appreciated, including allowing rooms to remain empty for a day or two between customers. The hotel is located right off the highway, but not on the highway, and their is a lovely outdoor mall a minute drive down the hill. Our family rated the hotel an average of 9.5/10, which is about as good as we can get. Would definitely stay here again.

I’m so pleased with the Courtyard Marriott in Beachwood. My mom turned 70. The manager there made us feel so special. I visit nothing but Marriott hotels and I’ve never been treated so nice. My family didn’t want to leave. We needed 6 rooms and the manager worked for 30 minutes trying to make sure that we stayed together. It’s such a clean hotel. I called and thanked her the next day.

The good: everything was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby areas were inviting. Room darkening blinds really worked, and the room was very quiet. Wifi worked (although not great in the room).
However, the room was not ideal for multiple people. The bathroom was split, with a door for the toilet/bathtub, but the sink area (including outlets for hairdryer) open to the bedroom. This meant that if someone was sleeping, you would bother them if you used the sink area. The mini-fridge was tiny, the coffee-maker was also very small. There weren't enough outlets in the room for more than one person, and, as often in a 2Q room, there were no tables on the outer edges of the beds.
Courtyards do not provide free breakfast. There is a cafe in the lobby where you could buy breakfast (which we did not try), or there is a Bob Evans restaurant across the street (easy to walk) that did online takeout orders (or dine-in).
Area was safe, lots of restaurants around, and easy access to the highway.

Entered the property through doors with signs saying you must have a mask on to enter. We were then checked in by a clerk who was wearing his mask under his chin. We saw this employee throughout our 2-night stay there checking in other guests, walking through the lobby, and he was never wearing his mask. Hotel also will not clean your room unless you are staying there for over a week; if this information was posted at the hotel or on their website, we didn’t see it. Other hotels we have stayed at recently have given guests the option of having their room cleaned. I assume they say they are doing this to protect their workers and not to cut housekeepers’ hours to save money, but I wonder if they are waiting 3 days after guests check out to send in housekeeping to clean the rooms. In non-virus times I would recommend this hotel for its location and large rooms. It is walkable to the very nice Pinecrest shopping/restaurant area.

Where should I start!!!
I booked my room weeks ahead of my visit (came to Cleveland to take my mom to her outpatient procedure at Cleveland Clinic). The day before my arrival I received the notification from the app to check in early which I did like many other times before at other Marriott hotels.
Once I arrived at the hotel I went back to the app to open up my digital key and it wasn't there so I had to go to the front desk and of course it was several families checking in with a kids soccer team! So there goes 30 plus minutes of waiting. Once it was finally my turn I informed the clerk that my digital key was available on the app that I had requested because I didn't want to have to deal with stopping at the front desk.
She says their policy is that you have to stop at the front desk to check in regardless of requesting a digital key(that I never received until my day of check out). Everything that I did on the app served no purpose I had to show my ID and swipe my credit card. A real inconvience because I have never had to do that since they started mobile check in.
Now once I got checked in and went to my room which I had requested a king suite with a balcony. The elevator was clean, the hallways were clean and the most of my room was clean until you got to the furniture.
I have never seen furntiture so dirty and nasty in my life! I called the front desk to ask to be moved but was told that if they moved me I would be in a smaller room with no price change. So of course I stayed where I was because that room most likely was in the same condition as the one that was in.
The bed linen was clean but I still sprayed it and everything else down with Lysol and I took thr additional sheets to cover the furniture to be able to sit on them.
The area that the hotel is in is great, tons of restaurants, bars and shopping. Overall the stay was not horrible but the room needs some deep cleaning and all the furniture needs to be thrown out.

Stayed 2 nights. Room with double bed was good size but needs updating but not that relevant to me. More importantly not told of housekeeping policy. Only clean rooms every other day. No signs in room telling you of this policy. Had to make bed and call for towels. No fresh glassware so had to rinse out and dry with wash cloth. Coffee supplies not restocked either, so no clean paper coffee cups or creamer for coffee in room after day 1. Don’t expect to go to hotel and do my own housecleaning. Usually good experience at Marriotts but not this one.

This was a terrible experience for our family. I called Marriot to confirm the pool was open as my daughter, who has significant special needs, was very excited to swim between 2-days of appointments at Cleveland Clinic. When we arrived we were told the pool ceiling had caved in and it was closed. However this was NOT the case based on looking in to the pool area! In addition there were USED towels in the room and dirty floors (I’m talking large items on the floor-trash, a button, etc). We tried to find a different hotel but all others in the area were full. The manager called our room, I thought to apologize but rather basically just asked when we planned to check out since we weren’t happy. Pretty shocked. Spend your money elsewhere! There are TONS of hotel in this nice area- this is not one of them!

I booked this hotel last minute and was originally placed in a room that had not been cleaned but obviously showed to clean to the front desk clerk. She was super nice though and walked with me to the new room she assigned to check it first. She told me she'd talk to the manager and to save my pictures because she could help with my rate on staying additional nights for the inconvenience. I said okay cool, that's fair. Went to the day shift person who was an older white male. He was short and snappy with me. Not very helpful AT ALL! Because he was such a disrespectful person, I decided not to stay additional nights and booked 2 more nights at the Hotel Indigo on Park East. Pictures below show blood stains on the pillow case and someone had released their bowels in the toilet. Disgusting

Had the same experience as previous reviewers. Sign on front door says one must wear a mask. Front desk staff: one wearing his mask around his neck and the other wearing mask under her nose. I called the manager and she did not express concern other than “yes we have to remind him to put on his mask after he drinks his coffee. He’s elderly....” When we returned to the lobby 30 minutes later, he still wasn’t wearing his mask.
Hotel is aged, too and in need of total updating. Nothing special here...I’d rather go somewhere where COVID precautions are taken seriously.

From the moment I checked in- I received great service. The front desk person was friendly & informative. My room was ready early and had no problem checking in.
I had a king room and it was very spacious & clean. The room had a nice refrigerator and service area. It also had a very comfortable couch in the sitting area. The bed was also comfy.
I used the gym space. Nice equipment and clean area.
I had a small problem at night (kids running up & down the hallway knocking on doors). I called the front desk & they sent someone immediately. As a matter of fact- once the issue was handled- the front desk clerk called me to let me know it was handled & asked if there was anything else they could do!
Great customer service, clean & comfy room.

Our rooms do not offer in room safes however we do have safe deposit boxes at the front desk free of charge. Hope that helps!
It's called the Bistro. Probably decent food at hotel prices. but its mainly there for people that don't have time, or dont want to leave the property. There are a few others within walking distance, and for sure, many a short drive away.
Hi Alan C,
I'm so sorry I missed your question and I'm now providing a delayed response. As a brand standard, Courtyard by Marriott hotels have not offered a complimentary breakfast. We do offer a Bistro restaurant with a great menu of made to order items. Our prices range from $3 for an a la carte item to $9.50 for a full breakfast, so pretty reasonable and similar to Bob Evans across the street. We also offer Starbucks coffee, including several specialty drinks. The Bistro is open in the evening for a limited menu for dinner and we offer a full bar as well.
I hope this information was helpful to you. If we can assist further please feel free to give the hotel a call at 216.765.1900. Thank you!
Hello and thank you for contacting us with your question. Typically there is not a deposit required to book a room at the hotel. There is of course a major credit card required at the time of booking. If you secure one of our discounted advance purchase rates, then yes a deposit payment will be due at the time of booking. Otherwise, room and tax is charged upon check out.
