I have to say that compared to the Homewood Suites where we originally booked, this is better. I walked in while the staff was dealing with a situation but greeted and appropriately. Angelique was nice and upgraded our room. She shared much information with the property. It is an older building, but again, it was ideal. I write honest reviews and take certain things into consideration. There was a bit of an issue. Nothing that was not able to be handled. We went to our room and were greeted by another customer's spouse, who stated they had keys to our room, but their keys did not work. I opened our room to check it out and was content with our room. However, I proceeded back to the front desk to be sure. I was greeted by the other spouse about the room. There were many people in line, and I waited patiently in line. There were some comments by locals about this place, and they mentioned that their quality of service had declined. I heard and understood but shared my experience about the other space and told them this place was much better. I understood their frustration and told them they needed to share their feedback so they could at least have the opportunity to improve with the reviews. Of course, people need to have realistic expectations. The customer that had keys to our room left, and Angelique apologized to me, informing me that she wrote down the number wrong on the other customer's card and, to be sure, gave me two new keys. I told her I would chat with her lady because she had many people waiting. Once I settled in and got ready for the event we came for, I returned to the front to share with Angelique how she did and handled the situation well. People like to complain but never share the good things. Angelique gave us some comps for any drinks. Thank you! Happy hour ladies behind the bar were awesome and funny.
Today, we had a cleaning service come to check on our room, and I have to say that it was nice. Again, thank you! My spouse brought me breakfast because I slept in. Omelet was good. We check out tomorrow, but so far, we are happy.

Because when moisture hits wallpaper, it warps it. Just a couple of fixes to the furniture would be ideal. Oh yes, the lobby area was hot; not sure if the a/c was not working.

When we travel, we often try to choose an Embassy Suites if there is one available. We enjoy the complimentary breakfast as well as the manager's evening reception. Both of these are big factors into our decision because although an Embassy Suites is often more expensive than other hotels, you are also receiving the breakfast and reception as part of that cost.
The hotel was quiet both in the day and at night, which made for a pleasant experience. The location was not far from shopping and other dining options. We did visit downtown Cleveland twice during our stay and it was about a 25 minute drive to get there. There isn't really anything within walking distance of the hotel.
I would rate the pool as average. It is a good size indoor pool, but the water was a little cloudy both days that we were there. The front desk staff were pleasant and friendly. Other staff at the hotel including the housekeeping and breakfast staff were also very friendly.
I would recommend this hotel, especially for travellers that are used to staying at Embassy Suites, as you will get the service, value, and quality that you are used to.

This was unfortunately our worst Embassy Suites experience. We often choose to stay at Embassy Suites when we travel due to the level of cleanliness and comfort, hotel layout with common areas to hang out, room layout with beds in back of room, happy hour and complimentary breakfast. However this hotel really did not live up to the Embassy Suites name.
We’ll start with the positives. Hotel was very pretty, common areas and rooms seemed clean, some of the staff were very friendly including the front desk staff and omelet maker chef, beds were comfortable, parking was easy and free, and the pool area was nice.
Now for the negatives. The happy hour was very disappointing. There was only one bartender Thursday 8/4 for the complimentary happy hour for the entire hotel and she was really rude. The bar was poorly stocked and she was clearly annoyed with any basic requests. The snacks provided were one basket of fries and one basket of breaded mini hot dogs for the hotel, that’s it. We were repeatedly told that wherever we were sitting was the wrong place, would move, then be asked again to move, then moved again twice more. This happened a couple nights. The omelet line at the complimentary breakfast was horrible. It took 45 minutes in line one day and 40 minutes in line the next day to get an average omelet. They were out of many items during the breakfast, like milk, fountain drinks, cups. When we asked for butter at the restaurant in the evening, no one could find any anywhere including directly asking the chef. When we asked for clean towels we were told they ran out and didn’t have any. The tv service in the room was outdated, no movies on demand for the kids. Wi-Fi would not work. No booklet in the room for hotel amenities ie pool hours, Wi-Fi info, local restaurants, room service etc. Overall a disappointing stay.

This hotel used to be one of our favorites. I wish I had read some of the other reviews before coming here. The hotel has really gone downhill. The arm chair in our room has a split seam from top to bottom. What was once a luxurious leather couch is now something that looks like it was bought at Wal-Mart. They didn't even bother to move the standing lamp closer to disguise the difference in size.
When you arrive at your room there is a seal on the door attesting to the fact the room has been cleaned using Lysol. You would think a deep cleaning would include vacuuming up the gold fish crackers that are visible under the couch. I shudder to think what's under there that we can't see.
There are so many options for hotels in the Beachwood area that should suggest Embassy Suites stay up with their competition. Like other recent reviewers, they have lost a loyal customer as we will never be back.

We have been loyal patrons of Hilton properties and especially this particular Embassy Suites. We stay here frequently, except during the pandemic, as I grew up in the area and still have much family and friends in the area. We liked staying here for not only the convenience, but also to house our family members scattered around the country. In fact we hosted a large family reunion in 2017 here with over 100 family members in attendance.
Over the Labor Day 2021 weekend we rented three suites for eight family members. Unfortunately, this will likely be our last time staying at the Beachwood Embassy Suites. The reason is the property is in terrible disrepair. The room we stayed in (357) has a bathroom I would expect at a rundown roadside motel.
1. The shower it self is a patchwork of calk, sealants and repairs.
2. The grab bar in the shower is coming out of the wall.
3. The show curtain rod to is coming out of the wall and hangs down and the hook on the door to the bathroom are just missing.
4. The shower head doesn’t spray any longer.
5. The tub is old and stained. It also isn’t flat and not safe to stand in.
6. The door handle to bedroom is coming apart.
7. The furniture is torn and shows it’s wear.
8. The lighting in the unit is dim and needs upgrading.
9. The overall appearance of the suite is worn and needs refurbishing.
10. The parking lot is filled with empty bottles and there is trash throughout.
11. We have spent five nights at the hotel and have had to straighten up our own rooms, collect our own trash, request supplies from the front desk, etc. And yet the rates being charged, do not reflect this self service.
12. We also were informed that the water to the hotel rooms will be shut of at 9:30 am for an unknown length of time. I’m not sure why this couldn’t have occurred in the middle of the night or after check out time, when it would be less in-convent. As a result we had to get up early, pack and leave earlier than we would have wanted on our last day of our stay.
As a result of the above, we will no longer patronize this property and will use one of the many new properties located here in Beachwood, or Orange Village on the other side of I-271 at Chagrin or even nearby Pinecrest Village. We would also like to notify Hilton Honors of these appalling conditions. I think the Hilton Honors would be embarrassed to list this as one of their premier properties.

First, I checked-in on the Hilton Honors app and selected a room on the first floor only to be given a fourth-floor room when we arrived. When I asked the front desk they said no first-floor room was available. The strange thing was that I passed several rooms with the "sanitized for your protection" stickers on the door of many first floor rooms which tells me the front desk lied. Next, the air conditioning would not cool the room to under 71 degrees. If it had not been so late we would have requested another room but by the time we realized the AC was not working properly we decided to tough it out. I think everyone understands the reduced services available and some hotels, depending on the state rules, so if a hotel is going to reduce those services then the front desk should be prepared. When I went down to ask for some additional coffee the front desk clerk was unable to find any and said he would look for some and bring it up. Didn't happen.
There are many other Hilton options close by so I would suggest staying there.

Once again, as with most Hilton properties that we visit, we called ahead to ask the hotel to remove any feather bedding from our room and to have the sofa bed made up as we were arriving late. Not only did they not remove the feather bedding, but they also did not have all of the bedding for the sofa bed, and they did not have enough towels in our room even though we listed who was staying there when we checked in. When I called the front desk to ask for new pillows, bedding, and a towel they told me very bluntly to come to the front desk to get them and then hung up. Great customer service. Plus their dishwasher was broken, so the poor workers on the breakfast buffet did not have enough plates for everyone. They were very friendly, but definitely understaffed. Would not recommend this hotel again.

The room was not clean at all and you should strongly consider remodeling. It was missing hand towels and I saw several human hairs around the room. I have stayed at this location many times over the last twelve years and the quality has declined dramatically.

Non smoking rooms are really smoking rooms with lots of aerials and sprays to cover up the smell. Hair in the bed sheets and linen. Waste left in the toilet. Trash left in the trash bin. Checked in in the afternoon, and immediately asked the front desk for housekeeping to re clean the room, they said they only clean rooms with a 24 hour notice. We asked for our room to be switched to an actual non smoking room, because at this point it was messing with my breathing and I kept coughing. We changed rooms and they put us in a handicap room, which was not the room type we originally booked.
Overall, a mess and as a Hilton Diamond member I was very unhappy!…. the breakfast was great and the staff at the omelette station were amazing and friendly.

We checked in on Saturday, there were 4 of us. There were 2 hand towels, and 2 bath towels in the room. We asked repeatedly for more towels and were told on Sat that it wasn't possible to get any more. On Sunday, we were told repeatedly that they would be ready and would drop them in our room. We didn't get any until after 5pm when I was at the desk for the umpteenth time.
The hotel is filthy! There was a disposable mask on the floor near our room that was there when checked in, and remained there until we left on Monday. One particular room had placed their trash in plastic grocery bags outside their room and they just accumulated over the days we were there. There were other incidents but this gives an idea.....

As Hilton Honors members and fans of Embassy and Homewood Suites, we are dismayed by recent reviews addressing the mold, outdated rooms, shabbiness and dirty breakfast area. One reviewer wrote that he/she would not pay extra for the breakfast - is this an error? Breakfasts are complimentary.
Before booking for a family visit, hopefully our concerns will addressed. Although there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee, we prefer to have a clean and pleasant room and a stay without 'issue.'

The Embassy Suites Hotel in Beachwood is about 30 miles north of the University of Akron. While we enjoyed staying at the Embassy Suites I'm sure there are closer hotels to the U of A that are just as nice.
