The Westin Cleveland Downtown garners praise for its cleanliness and prime location, which guests find convenient for exploring local attractions. While the amenities meet traveler expectations, particularly secure parking and food options, some guests suggest enhancements in restaurant services and room features like AC.
The staff often receives accolades for their friendliness, although service can sometimes be slow. Though the hotel's atmosphere is generally considered pleasing, opinions on value and room comfort are mixed, with some guests expressing disappointment.

Detailed Reviews
First time at this hotel. Clean. Typical Westin hotel. Front check in area is little tight. Only complaint. We did request a quiet room. However, we got a room that was connected to elevator shaft. Anytime we were in the room, I could clearly hear elevators in motion. Couldn’t sleep. God awful. Hotel needs to add some sort of sound silencing material for those rooms. 5 hour drive back home wasn’t fun at all.
Everything else was your typical Westin hotel. Clean. Great service. Great location for what we needed for.
Would have given 5 stars. But our room sucked. Couldn’t sleep.
On a second note, $40 for vallet parking seems little too Excessive.

Response from TinaWestinCle, Director of Operations at The Westin Cleveland Downtown
Responded Jan 24, 2020
James S, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I apologize that we failed to honor your request for a quiet room and you were not able to sleep due to noise from the elevators. This is a teachable moment for our Front Desk team. Your comments have been shared with our Director of Engineering to see if there is an option. We recent had an survey done of our elevators and some of the recommended repairs may also help this. We do hope that if your travels bring you back to Cleveland, you do consider us. Please feel free to contact me personally. Be Well, Tina Futrell

During covid my daughter had only one week off between her semesters. Stayed here for her week off as didn’t make sense to pack her up and fly home for just a day or two.
We were here in January. The hotel was very quiet and primarily unoccupied at that time. Very cardio ng front desk and security staff. This trip saw the slow reopening of some food options tho limited. The staff remains excellent although obviously training many new people. A few kinks to be worked out. Thanks to the front desk manager, my spouse who has recently completed chemo was able to self park. The Marriott bonvoy upgrade we had was a bit unexpected and greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
There was an obvious cleaning presence seen throughout and we felt safe in regards to cleanliness of the hotel although the rooms are starting to show a bit of wear.
Urban Farmer was open with limited times and food. Looking forward to our next stay here as food choices and preparation were excellent!
Close to the great North coast - you can easily walk to the science museum as well as the rock n roll hall of fame. We Discovered a scripted Cleveland sign at 9th street pier that makes for a great photo op with the Cleveland skyline behind.
Worth the 45min trip back and forth from Oberlin! We will be back!

We were guests at this facility for the wedding of our daughter. Our stay was from a Friday afternoon thru early Sunday afternoon. Our first interface was with the bellman, Bobby, who I feel is your most important staff member, as he creates the first as well as last impression of your facility. If he treats every guest in the manner he treated us, you folks are truely blessed to have him in this position. The food during the cocktail hour, the dinner reception as well as the Sunday morning brunch were all excellent and beautifully presented. There was not one single person we interfaced with that created any issues that left me with a negative impression. Not one person in our party of approximately 175 had any issues with the reception or the rooms. Many made comments that this rated right up at the top of 'Best Weddings Ever Attended". Erica was a joy to interface with. Everyone commented about the excellent staff and the room views, be they from the city side or the lake side. Each and everyone on your staff truely cares about the guest experience. I have no reservations about recommending your facility to anyone looking for a wedding venue in downtown Cleveland. Thank you.

It is astonishing in these strange times (COVID-19) how inflexible hotels and airplane companies can be. The major excuse is that your reservation is from a third party and they cannot do anything, never mind that the money goes to them. And good luck finding the third party, most likely you will stay two hours on hold, and then be disconnected at the end.
Two months ago, we made reservation at the Westin Cleveland Downtown for weekend trip. After the President declared a National Emergency last Friday 3/13/2020 we tried to cancel and rebook unsuccessfully our reservation.
We decided to go to Cleveland after calling several museums to see if they are open and we were positively reaffirmed they are working. To our surprise, Saturday morning everything was shut down even the casino. We went to the hotel front desk to ask for a credit to cancel and rebook another day and they gave us the usual answer -
Oh! you made the reservation from third party; sorry we cannot do anything. We tried to reason that, we do not want money and explained we want voucher for another and better time when this pandemic was over. We were denied again. For a couple more dollars Westin was ready to sacrifice the health of their employees and guest. Shame on you!
To add to their inflexibility, the hotel is filthy especially the hallways. For two days, I did not see a housekeeping person or cart. With pandemic break you would hope the lobby would smell like cleaning chemicals. No such a thing. The restaurant where we ate our breakfast sat us at a table next to the waitress computer screen. You can see all fingerprints on it, and you knew they have not cleaned it for the last year. The hostess is another person that did not think straight and seated next to us the only other couple that came in the restaurant which put us less the 6 feet apart. If you ever go to this restaurant do not order egg benedict. For a $17 dish you do not need burned muffin and raw eggs.
I have been in Westin Cleveland for first and last time!
PS The third party in my case is hotels.com

Compass711974, Thank you for your valuable feedback. Your points are very valid in regards to the cleanliness of the hotel and keeping up with it, especially during this time. I have shared your comments with our Housekeeping Leaders and Senior Restaurant Manager. In terms of the Hotels.com reservation. We have been working closely with the third parties when they have contacted us in regards to cancelations due to the COVID-19. When you book with them and prepay, you are paying them so we cannot directly refund you. I do apologize that was not the case for you. Your reasons for not wanting to return are understood. Please feel free to reach out to me if they is anything that I can do in the future. Be Well and Be Safe, Tina Futrell Director of Operations The Westin Cleveland tina.futrell@westincleveland.com

I stayed at this hotel in August 2021, when the U.S. was experiencing a surge of the COVID Delta Variant. Still, I expected that if a hotel was open to customers, they would be providing the service that I'm accustomed to receiving, the main part being clean towels each day. I couldn't have been more wrong. Upon arrival we were told that they were not "servicing rooms." Ummm, OK, then what does a hotel do besides collect your money? Others at the convention said that if I put my dirty towels in the hall and requested a new set, they would be delivered. That did not work; it just made the halls look nasty with piles of dirty towels by many doors. I requested clean towels at the front desk on my way out at 9:30 AM. By 3:15 PM I did not have towels. (They did collect the dirty ones.) Call #2 at 3:20, by 4 PM I still did not have towels. I asked a staff person in the hall and finally got part of what I needed. A staff person then made a second trip with the rest. That was the last time during my 5 night stay that I got clean towels, although they had no clean wash cloths. The hotel may blame this on COVID and lack of staff. It may be partly true. However, between this and the dirty shower, broken toilet seat, etc. I am not inclined to choose a Marriott owned property for any future hotel needs. The Westin/Marriott brand needs to get their act together, or close the location if they can't run it well. While I had a group rate, someone in our group who didn't get that rate was paying over $400/night for the same terrible service. That is not acceptable.

I had high hopes for the Westin. I had been a Marriott loyalist for years, but I recently changed my preference toward Hilton properties. I landed at the Westin during a recent last minute trip to Cleveland as a result of an online deal.
My arrival was fine, despite the fact the Valet in front of the hotel on St. Clair Ave. was a bit of a hot mess. Check-In was much better. The associate pulled up my reservation, provided an intro to the property along with recommendations, gave me my key, and bid me a pleasant stay, all in less than 5 minutes.
Once I got to my room, though, things went downhill. I was in a "Lakeview" room on the 8th floor. "Lakeview" is a technical description at the lower levels; I was able to see a little of Lake Erie between a couple buildings. A bummer, but not a deal breaker. The more critical issues related to the condition of the room...
Furniture and fixtures definitely showed their age with scuffs, scratches & gouges, doors that wouldn't close, and electrical outlets that could barely hold a plug. It reminded me of the older casino resorts in Las Vegas that are still yearning for a makeover.
However, the worst of it all was the level of housecleaning. I found some long hairs on the white duvet cover when I arrived. It may not seem like much, but it's a pet peeve of mine. And long, black hairs on a bright white duvet should be caught by staff. Even worse, though, was when I used the toilet. I lifted the seat to find the rim had not been cleaned after a previous guest. There were dried urine stains on the rim of the bowl and the tile floor in front of the toilet. Gross!
I had plans to meet family that evening, and so I notified the front desk and shared pictures, before I left. I asked them to send Housekeeping up to the room to re-sanitize the toilet. Fortunately, the toilet was cleaned when I returned from my evening out.
After this experience, I have no desire to return to this property ever. There are plenty of other options in Downtown Cleveland.

Four-day stay; no housekeeping despite repeated requests and promises from manager du jour.
If you're attending a trade show or conference, stay somewhere else. Drury. Hampton Inn etc. These people at Westin KNEW the didn't have enough staff to handle reservations; yet they continued to sell rooms at regular prices without discounting for no housekeeping.

Our stay was comfortable and very convenient to everything where we wanted to go. The front desk staff was courteous and efficient. Our room was ready and they they welcomed us with smiles. The room 2 queen beds was perfect size for 4 of us and the amenities were just right.Staying one night and not having to pack a host of clothes and toiletries was great. The shower soap, shampoo conditioner were already there in very eco friendly dispensers. I hate using the small throw away bottles typically found in rooms. Shower pressure was also great!. We did not dine her but did hang out at the bar. They had a nice mix of craft type cocktails and they were nicely poured and the bartenders were very attentive A bit pricey but not out of line. We did not use Valet as the cost was too expensive and made other arrangements for our car. Clean friendly and great location. All made this a good overnighter for our friends we were showing off Cleveland too. I would recommend this Hotel and will be back again.

This hotel was great! Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful, from Kim at the front desk who was extremely helpful to the cleaning and restaurant staff. The room was very nice and clean and had a nice view of the city. The hotel was clean and smelled great throughout. I workout regularly, and the fitness center had a great amount of quality equipment for a hotel. I ate breakfast at the hotel, and the omelet, bacon and juice tasted great. The location is perfect if you are attending baseball, basketball or football games or visiting the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame because you can leave your car at the hotel and walk to all of these locations. I was very impressed with the staff and facilities at this hotel and highly recommend it.

I’m still trying to process our experience at the Westin. Our sheets had urine stains on them, the toilet had poop stains, and the shower was moldy. To make matters worse the hotel didn’t seem to care…someone brought us new sheets, threw them on the floor, and said “I’m not allowed to enter rooms”. They then walked out leaving us to clean our own hotel room. The next morning the hotel staff said “we have no other rooms available but they could offer us cleaning supply’s”. Obviously we checked out. While waiting in line to check out the front desk offered the cis white straight middle aged couple a “complimentary high floor suite upgrade”. Honestly someone needs to call the health department on this hotel!!!! Do not stay here!!!

Hi randyr958,
Yes, we have a valet option in our attached garage. There are also several self parking options close to the hotel, including on just across the street and in the AECOM building connected to the back of the hotel.
Thank you,

Good Afternoon,
Currently the Club Lounge does not have service or Food & Beverage on the weekends.
Service ends Friday after breakfast and starts back with breakfast on Monday mornings.
Thank you for inquiring.
I am not sure. Call the hotel directly for those accommodations.
3 but they will let you check in earlier if room is ready, but just don’t count on it
