Shillong is our holiday destination since long, this was my first time in Aerodene cottage and the place simply had the essence of a typical European stay. A Beautiful garden to begin and beautifully decorated rooms which were so cozy and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and hospitable, the food was awesome home food. I loved it so did...

My trip to Shillong was made because of this beautiful home stay. The area this property is located in is quiet and stunning. The rooms are delicately designed to give a vintage feel. The aura of this cottage is very homely. I would like to give Sharlene and Rukma a special mention for making our stay so wonderful and comfortable....

The rooms are dirty and floors are damaged. The front desk people of the cottage do not have any sense of hospitality. Not kids friendly. Toilets are dirty. A place to avoid for staying. The cottage is also located in a heavily congested area.

Warm and comfortable place, very friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we had plenty of fresh vegetarian fare .. We stayed in Room No. 2. The room was quaint with a lovely and quiet patio, a comfortable bed, a bathroom with new fixtures, a clean toilet and enough free flowing hot and cold water. Coming...

Aerodene The first thing that hits you as you enter is the peace, quiet and tranquil of this place. And then you also set your eyes on the beauty on the premise. A 1946 Jaguar! Oooh! The place is a haven for travelers, NOT for tourists! A few steps away from the road from where you get ample taxis to...

I booked it through the owner of the accommodation, found out she was out of town still an amazing pre-booking communication. I was offered to pay after i come over to the city, was given direction how to reach the hotel. Guest relation starts even before the actual trip/stay and this was a classic example of how it should work....

I don't know where to start..the cottage itself is an experience. .it's more a premium home stay and not a typical hotel.. located in a peaceful locality of Shilling the place looks out of the world.. it has two buildings, one is wooden more than 50 yrs old and the another of normal brick and mortar currently built.. both the...

The cottage at Aerodene is such a quaint place that you would want to come back to Shillong just to savour it time after time. It's classic old world charm, an extra special experience of staying in a truly well appointed upscale cottage. It's very cosy, very, very comfortable and if you get the rooms with an attached sit-out, nothing...

The Aerodene is a charming Assam-style cottage renovated into a bed and breakfast. The wooden floors and charming English interiors - lacy curtains, a wall dedicated to portraits of all the dogs who've stayed at the Aerodene in the main living room, low armchairs, vases of daisies everywhere - create a nostalgic ambience. Pretty garden. The rooms are a tad...

We got room no. 1 in the main building. Pros: Very good location, one can walk to some nice eating places near by. Very good small garden, big Yoga hall, quiet place. We got room 1 which was adequate for three people. The room was maintained well by the staff everyday. I was able to peep into some other rooms...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As tourism picks up in Meghalaya, there is a huge demand for homestays in heritage buildings like Aerodene Cottage. Built in 1950 in the Assam style of architecture prevalent during the British Raj, the structure was designed keeping in mind the high rainfall in the region and low winter temperatures. Despite the challenge in maintaining such a building, this boutique guest house provides all the comforts of home, combined with modern amenities and top service, giving guests a taste of the old English cottage. ... more   less
