All 3 courses were delicious. Beautiful fresh food, really well presented with balanced flavours and textures. Will definitely return to try different things on the menu Service was really friendly and that created a relaxed atmosphere

We visited on the recommendation of friends on a rare night when the kids were at the grandparents. The food was OK, nothing special and a bit on the pricey side. However there were a couple of issues with the service (mixed up order, wrong sides etc). Perhaps just a blip as they were busy (and noisy). Overall a bit...

This is an odd place sometimes, as they do let them selves down occasionally, but these are rare events indeed for the most part, the food is good, prices offer value for money. Lunch especially is great value. They don't change their menu as often as I would prefer, but that said its still good grub all round. Wines prices...

We arrived at The County about 19:00 and it was packed, there wasn't a table free, luckily we had booked. We had four main meals, all of them fish - Sea Bream, Haddock and fish and chips. We had seasonal vegetables with three of the dishes. For dessert we had ice cream, lemon tart and sticky toffee pudding. The food...

Food met all the requirements of the diverse age range from mid 20s to mid 80s as well as vegetarian & non vegetarian tastes-fish, steak pie, tortellini all praised highly as were the desserts & cheese...

We broke our journey on our way further north at The County, and a very pleasant stay it was too. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were first-class: very friendly and helpful. As it was a busy period on the run-up to Christmas we had taken the precaution of reserving a table in the restaurant -...

This was only our second visit as we don't live locally. We were in the Durham area for a few days to celebrate my husbands birthday. I booked a table at The County and hoped the food would be just as good since our last visit. We were not disappointed, the service and food was excellent. My husband had the...

My last visit to this place was way back in the seventies, what a very pleasant surprise , warm and friendly welcome and a great atmosphere. I was part of a large party celebrating a 60th birthday, from the very start the service was so good, attention to detail was brilliant, it got better, the food was outstanding (I gather...
