We had lovely roast beef and dessert plus one drink for £14.25 per head really good value. The beef was tender, the potatoes crispy, Yorkshire light and well cooked. The dessert was chocolate brownie which was amazing, and shout out to the young lady serving who we remembered that used to work in a Holt cafe 'jambo's', so lovely and...

We have eaten here several times and the food is always of a good standard.I have previously put a review on here stating that fact. We turned up around 2pm on a wet Saturday afternoon with our little westie and sat were we always do in the bar.On ordering the food I was told no food will be served in...

Food was extremely poor. Starter of ribs sent back as couldn't find even one mouthful of meat on them! We were asked to order something different which came 15mins after finishing the other starters. Main course; one child's meal the waiter had got the order wrong! My gammon double yolk egg and chips would of been nice if the gammon...

Just had Sunday lunch, which all three of us felt was basic but good.Very busy due to the forties weekend, but was served pretty quickly. The staff were fine and attentive.Did not like seeing the chef plating up in front of customers with his bare hands.Would have thought it would be better done out of site. Apart from that lunch was good

Not posh just unassuming... massive rooms friendly service... we have stayed all over the world but keep returning to this little gem ... comfy beds crisp white linen every comfort you could imagine with the luxury of a byfords breakfast.

Booked in advance for sat 30th July, good job we did as it was fully booked. However, changed the chef and menu, to something that was more of a up market fast food/ dinner type place. Menu was not that of a steak house, only one steak on offer, but could not provide a sauce or alternative option to chips!...

We went to the kings Head for lunch whilst visiting Holt for the day. We had an awful lunch my wife's steak baguette was so tough the dogs couldn't eat it. The baguette was all soggy, the salad looked a week old out of 10. 0. On the whole a very poor meal. Would not be returning.

We came here for lunch because we got some vouchers for Christmas. The burgers were basic, the roast has nothing to it not forgetting the very very watery gravy. I'd rather pay 11.50 and have the feathers carvery which is much nicer and you get more!! Holt kings head is no longer a contender, much nicer food elsewhere.

Stayed here for work. Got room just above the bar which was noisy until late. Room had kitchen and seperate bathroom which was very luxurious . Lovely deep bath and lots of smellies. Food in restaurant was excellent with good choice reasonably priced. Probably best steak I have had. Breakfast and checkout was over the road at Byfords hotel. The...

We stayed in room 2 which despite overlooking the street was quiet at night. It was very comfortable with a luxury bathroom and small kitchen .We didn't self cater but it was nice to have somewhere to make drinks and have a fridge for fresh milk.Previous reviews have mentioned the pub noise but although it was very busy we were not...
