I cannot recommend Caley Hall Hotel highly enough for a post-lockdown break. My daughter, mum and I spent 2 nights here and not only did we feel relaxed and spoilt during our stay, we also felt incredibly safe. When we arrived, a hand sanitiser was visible on entering the building and a clear one way system in place directing us to reception. Staff all around the hotel wore masks and gloves which we found very reassuring and they were regularly seen sanitising their hands. Housekeeping staff were very visible and we often saw them cleaning the high touch point areas like doors, handles and areas of the restaurant. The layout of the hotel could not be more perfect being that all rooms are on the ground floor. Most appeared to have their own entrance from the outside courtyard meaning that contact with other guests was minimal. Walking through the hotel there were multiple hand sanitisers with signs encouraging everyone to use them regularly. In the restaurant, waiting staff kept their distance as much as possible and cutlery was handed to us with our plates rather than being on the table when we were seated. Despite the fact that the waiting staff had to maintain a distance, they were incredibly attentive and helpful and the food was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding in particular is out of this world and worth visiting just for that if nothing else!!!

Although the increased hygiene measures in place were very visible, this did make our stay feel any less special, in fact I would say the opposite. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. They clearly were as happy to be there as we were to be their guests. A truly perfect stay and we hope to return again!

We have stayed in several hotels in Hunstanton and this is the best we've experienced. It was always going to be interesting taking our first break post the lockdown re-opening but the staff at Caley Hall have put considerable thought into their procedures and we were entirely comfortable. Good to see everyone keeping a positive attitude and smiling (when not wearing a mask !! ). We particularly liked the open seating areas outside the room which added to the experience. Room was tidy, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good, especially the sausages.

We also ate in the restaurant and the food was of a good standard although the menu was understandably limited. Once again COVID-19 precautions around cutlery and condements were well thought through and properly followed even though this was their first night implementing the new way of working.

Location is good for a walk down to the beach or the longer trip into central Hunstanton (about 3km along the cliff walk). We'll be back.

Thank you foxton-russian for such a flattering review, we are thrilled that your stay was such an enjoyable one. This was always going to be a strange period reopening after such a pandemic but we have been working hard in the lead to reopening to try and establish a balance between keeping everyone safe whilst maintaining a stronghold on customer service & I am delighted that you found everything was working well. We hope for an opportunity to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights towards the end of September. The hotel is set in a quiet location close to the coast. In the summer when the weather is good can imagine this hotel is in the perfect location, unfortunately during our stay the weather was truly appalling which meant we were unable to explore the surrounding area.

We arrived early and got a coffee in the the bar area as our room was not available. Must congratulate he hotel in allowing us to take over our room two early as soon as it was ready.

The public areas are clean and well decorated and look as if they have recently been decorated. There is a one way system in operating and reception issue you with a map after check in which is much needed due the mazy layout of the hotel. The room are outside and set away from the public areas which does mean that you have to brave the elements to get to breakfast for example.

Room was pleasant enough, not fancy and does have a bit tired and slightly rundown feel to it. Were in one of the furthest rooms but we noticed we could hear our neighbours moving around the hotel so imagine it was worse for those on a main thoroughfare.

Restaurant/Breakfast was served in a rather plain room. We had a meal in the restaurant the first night and will say that the food was ok a little plain, we have worse. We were given a set time for breakfast and up arrival shown to a table where were were asked to play our order. The selection is good but again OK.

Staff were friendly and more than helpful.

The hotel was very busy but the covid restrictions were well thought out and did not impact or cause any difficulties on our stay.

Overall a pleasant stay.

We stayed for 4 nights last week . The hotel is very nice and very doggy friendly which we liked , though our pooch was with a friend. The public areas like the lounges and dining rooms are very well decorated and appealing and the outdoor spaces lovely.
The staff were very gracious and hard working in these hard times and especial thanks to Carol Anne and also a young man who served breakfast etc in a red mask !!
The rooms were very nicely decorated and comfy though I do think 4 days without housekeeping a bit much ?? Towels and linens should be washed in accordance with washing instructions. The frequency of the cycle of cleaning and in-room services should be reviewed to take into account different lengths of stay ** This is a government directive. However the rooms smelt very strongly of damp ......really unpleasant. The food for breakfast was excellent but the evening meal was overpriced and dire . I could not recommend anything we ate , either the taste or appearance ....I would say the hotel did not charge us for the meal we had and the other one in our package was refunded but it would make a lot more sense to work on the main meal cooking and presentation .....it was just poor beyond measure. Don`t let yourselves down when you are almost really , really good.

Thank you Odette-Jeremy for your comments. Unfortunately a mixed bag of feedback however as much we appreciate the positives we will focus more on the negatives as our ultimate objective is to ensure all of our guests leave with their expectations exceeded. I will ensure all of the points raised are discussed with the relevant team members to try and understand how these issues can be rectified as most are certainly avoidable and therefore very disappointing to see.

The hotel itelf is situated on the main (although very quiet) road in Old Hunstaton.

The hotel consists of a main building with other rooms being in several separate buildings on the premises. These are just a few yards away and not a problem (unless it rains, when you might well get wet).

Our room was spacious and, apart from a dodgy bath plug, comfortable, spotlessly clean and of a good size with a super kingsize zip and link bed whih would be equally good as a double or twin.

The bar is comfortable with a variety of sofas and chairs.

Our only problem was with the restaurant. There is nothing actually wrong with it but it's a bit soulless - and despite having a number of AA recommendations on the wall in reception, we found the menu uninspired and the food ordinary.

And the bill of £90 for two courses, a drink before hand and a bottle of OK wine was, in our opinion, steep.

The staff were attentive and friendly and it's also dog friendly with a number of people having their dogs at the hotel.

Room for the price was dire. No complementary water, old tiny TV, cheap flat pack furniture, lumpy mattress, towels like sandpaper, hot water was hit & miss. Wasp nest directly above the room so open a window & you'd have a few in the room within minutes, not good in +70° temperatures! They need to replace the crunching gravel for tarmac or install double glazing to stop the noise of the cars right outside!
First morning full English breakfast took 30mins to arrive, second morning it took 50mins for eggs on dry toast to arrive!
At £20 per breakfast it's a disgrace!
My partner spent £320 for 2 night's B&B!
Got £40 back for the 4 slices of dry toast, 2 rock hard poached eggs & spoonful of scrambled eggs. It's not even a poor man's Premier Inn at best.
Only plus was the staff we dealt with were nice people.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I apologise that your stay was not satisfactory. We do not have water in the rooms as a part of our policy of reducing contact points during the pandemic. I have spoken with housekeeping to see if we can identify which room you were in a locate the offending mattress, I will be getting in touch with our suppliers as the mattresses throughout the hotel are all relatively new, so it is disappointing to hear that there is a lumpy one. Unfortunately we do not have a say in where wasp colonies decide to make nests, however, we have been notified about this nest and had it removed. We happen to like our gravel driveway, so I apologise that you did not. As far as breakfast is concerned I do apologise, we do not charge £20 per breakfast, it is included within your room tarrif, it is not extra on top, I am disappointed that you chose to bring it up on here, as from your review, it would appear that you raised your grievances at the time, I can only assume that we couldn't rectify things to a satisfactory level and so gave you a refund.

We booked in the receptionist was really lovely showed us to our room, which as the rooms are scattered about a bit, is a necessity. We had a wowcher and got upgraded, which meant we had gowns and hot chocolate. I’m not sure if the room was any better!! But the room was still very nice comfortable bed.
We also had a cream tea which was very nice, fresh scone with jam and clotted cream, which we had in the bar area, which was tastefully decorated.
Food in the dining room was very nice, but a bit overpriced.
Breakfast was also very nice, just one thing might make it better is maybe to have some nicer bread, rather than bog standard stuff,
Staff were all really friendly, except when we checked out the gentleman on reception told us how much our bill was, didn’t even ask if we had a nice time at the hotel, surly that’s important!!!
All in all w3 had a nice stay.

We stayed in one of the superior rooms and it ticked all my boxes:
Clean and warm
Well thought out with no unnecessary "clutter"
Plenty of accessible sockets
Bedside lamps that worked and did not take up loads of space
Very comfortable and large bed
Full length mirror
TV that worked and was well positioned
Kettle that actually fitted under the tap
And.....double room , 2 comfortable chairs!
These might seem like basics but the number of hotels that fail to provide these whilst claiming to be " luxury" astounds me.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Very tasty and well presented.
I had been concerned about the dog friendliness of the hotel. As people who are definitely not dog lovers we were concerned about them being in the restaurant but when I phoned in advance I was reassured that they were kept in a separate area, which they were. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we would definitely stay again...as long as they keep to their policy of keeping dogs separate !

Very efficiently managed hotel with helpful staff, squeaky clean everywhere, public rooms attractively furnished and very comfortable en suite rooms, We stayed in H1 and had a super peaceful sleep - just the occasional calling of the local owls. Very spacious well equipped bedroom and large bathroom with stand-alone bath as well as very large walk in shower. Checking in and out was superbly organised and fast. Breakfasts were buffet style and again efficiently run, as was the service at dinner in the evening. Lots of outside space with tables, chairs and loungers. We had a very enjoyable relaxing stay at Caley Hall.

My wife & I had a two night stay at Caley Hall this month, and would highly recommend it. Stayed in one of the three luxury rooms - it was spacious, spotless, very comfortable and felt like it had been renovated relatively recently. All of the staff we dealt with were friendly and efficient. We had breakfast (buffet style) two mornings, and dinner on one evening, all very enjoyable. There is also a very comfortable bar area. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach and the town. We would definitely return, but if we were to nit pick, in a luxury room we would maybe expect dressing gowns/robes and bottled water to be provided.

They have some dog friendly rooms I don't know whether they are twin or double, our dogs sleep in the car so I don't know whether they charge extra for dogs in the room. I'm sure if you phone them they will be very helpful.
