We arrived on the Friday afternoon having travelled through some pretty horrible weather and was greeted with a smile. Check in was seamless and the receptionist was very polite, We stayed in the "Woodpecker" room and what a delight it was. Over looking the gardens. It was a very large room and well laid out with plenty of space. The room was very clean and welcoming. Plenty of storage was to hand. Couldn't fault it so if you get the chance to stay in it then do so.

Breakfast was plentiful using only fresh produce. Nothing was too much trouble by all the staff and any requests were dealt with there and then. We opted to dine on the Saturday evening and we invited some friends to sample the menu. We weren't disappointed at all. The food was delicious and reasonably priced - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Overall, a very pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again 10/10

We went with relations for the Great Gatsby themed New Years Eve party and stayed over in the hotel. There was ample parking close by and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival, and were escorted to our ‘Owl’ room. The room was very spacious with a superking was a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very modern, only downside was that shower on the bath, as I like a shower rather than a bath and it was not easy.
The Gatsby evening was good but there was not many that did the themed side, but we really enjoyed it. The food was top class, as was the service throughout the evening.
I don’t think the glitter cannons will be used next year, as it was everywhere in the hotel the next morning, but a great idea, I pity the poor cleaners trying to remove it all.
The breakfast was once again very good and quite filling.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for the food and accommodation and the themed night was a great bonus, certainly worth the 4.5 hour drive we made.
Top hotel, great staff, excellent evening, well done. The boss was a nice guy as well as buddy the dog.

We had the most wonderful time for our wedding on 30th October at Broom Hall with our 30 guests. We live in Wales but held our wedding in Norfolk.
The venue, the food, the staff (especially Becca the events manager) were all exceptional. We stayed from the Thursday to Sunday, the Bridal suite is absolutely stunning, having a delightful breakfast delivered to my room on the morning of the wedding was a nice touch.
The room for ceremony and wedding breakfast was decorated to perfection. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they work hard.
The hot buffet we had chosen instead of a sit down meal was delicious and it catered well for the fussy eaters (children). Even the regular evening meal menu on the eve of the wedding had such a great choice to suit everyone.
Our guests commented that all their rooms were very nice and that they all felt so welcome at Broom Hall.
I can't stress how perfect our wedding day was we couldn't have picked a better venue to say I Do. Thank you Broom Hall for making it so very special.

Booked a three night stay over the bank holiday here. We were a family of four (children 9 and 6) and one dog. Upon booking we were told we would be located in the coach house as we had a dog - perfect as it has direct access to the outside. We even called the hotel in the week leading up to the holiday to check our booking was all correct.

Upon arrival at the hotel they had given us a room on the first floor of the main hotel, it was a double room made into family room with two put you up beds. It was so small you couldn’t get to the other side of the room because of the beds, couldn’t put stuff in the wardrobe as a bed was wedged against it. I have no idea how they thought this would be suitable for a family of four with a dog for three nights. Given it was in the main building there was also no immediate access outside to take our dog out - so unsuitable. The room was also smelly and needed airing.

We told reception the room was unsuitable and they advised they had nothing else. So they had clearly mucked up our booking.

We left the hotel with no where to stay, disappointed kids and the prospect of a two hour drive home.

The hotel didn’t really apologise, there was no phone call nothing! Disgraceful! Check check check your booking here...

Booked here not knowing what it was like, but we love Norfolk and it seemed a nice place.

When we arrived the deaf were so welcoming and helpful, and this continued throughput our stay, and it very dog friendly which helps, especially when your dog is as needy as mine is!

The accommodation is lovely, just the right size and nicely furnished, there are also electrical sockets everywhere which made a refreshing change from having to hunt for one. Its also nice to have a bath and a shower, so you have the choice.

The grounds of Broom Hall are immaculate and there's lots of them, it was very nice to walk the dog around them and enjoy the country air, rare to get grounds as large as at Broom Hall so another nice change form other places.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious and well cooked, the variety is also nice.

All in all it was a wonderful stay and we have already booked our next visit here.

My partner and I were looking to stay in the area as we had booked tickets to a gig at Thetford Forest. We’d left it a bit late so all hotels nearest to the venue were full. I’m somewhat dubious about staying in independent hotels (all full anyway) so we took a gamble and booked 2 nights at Broom Hall. And thank goodness we did because it really made our weekend, so much so, we stayed an extra night.

We received a very warm welcome and it was lovely to see Buddy the hotel dog – great for dog lovers and for those not so keen – as Buddy is very gentle and laid back, never approaching you without an invite.

Our room was lovely. Very clean and the bathroom was large and modern. The whole building itself is so quaint with beautiful surroundings. Warm weather meant we could sit outside on the lovely patio overlooking the garden, whether we were eating there, enjoying drinks in the evening or just playing cards and soaking up the sun. We also enjoyed time in our room on our huge cloud of a bed watching Netflix. The rooms must be soundproof as we could not hear any of the other guests in their rooms!

It felt really homely – you felt immediately comfortable there to roam around, chat to staff and really relax. But not like home because you get looked after and don’t have to lift a finger!

Staff were absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble and attention to detail meant that we felt pampered. We had some great chats with staff, they genuinely want you to have a good time. Running the hotel is the owner’s passion – so making sure guests are happy is his priority.

I am vegan and my partner eats meat. We both really enjoyed the food. Had a great vegan breakfast and their vegan burger was really good.

Personal highlights include: my partner trying to race a pheasant in the garden, drinking pink martinis during a midnight stroll in the gardens and star gazing, the owner and his son waving us off as we went off to our gig, approaching sheep in the field and then backtracking as we realised it was an angry looking ram, my partner trying to walk through a glass door (I told you it was clean!), both of us relaxing so much we fell asleep outside on the patio – and we’re not usually nappers!

And to think we nearly ended up in Travel lodge! It would have been a completely different experience. We are looking forward to returning – no gig needed, it’s a treat to stay there regardless.

This trip was a last minute weekend away. I was excited after seeing the photos on the website and I booked the room on the phone. We booked a two nights break. I was told at the time of booking that the room in the annex was the only one available.
On arrival we discovered we were the only guests. This was extremely strange as it was the start of the hottest busiest staycation weekend in England, all places were fully booked. The room we were allocated was small and basic but looked acceptable. The restaurant was closed due to no guests, so we went to a very nice pub in the nearby village for dinner.
We returned around 9 pm, saw that the shower was not working as the shower head was smashed. It was late to do anything about it and the reception was closed, so we decided to stay till the morning. Huge mistake!
After it got dark, dozens of black beetles appeared from every corner of the room, they were coming from underneath the bath, from outside under the door and all the corridors of the annex building were also infested with those beetles.
I could not sleep at all. Next morning we cancelled the second night stay and found different accommodation.

If you happen to stay at this place, make sure you ask for a room in the main building, it looks as it is in a much better state of repair, the annex needs urgent renovation. The staff are generally friendly though I still don’t understand why we were put in the scary bit of the hotel if there was no other guests. After my negative comments there was no attempt to keep us stay or offer alternative accommodation, maybe they were not happy to have any guests as the hotel must be empty all the time, perhaps we were just an annoyance?:)

The swimming pool was closed due to COVID but it is a tiny pool for kids only.

The breakfast was tasty and good choice.

Please note that the nearby town is not very tourist friendly. It has a huge meet processing plant and is not a nice place to visit. It could be a stopover on the way to the North Norfolk coast but not more than that.

Overall a very strange and disappointing experience: for almost £100 a night you get an uninhabitable room with a pleasant breakfast, but I’m sure you can get a nice breakfast elsewhere for less than £100.

The shortage of staff within the hospitality sector is clearly defined at this establishment. The staff have to work hard to make up for the lack of an adequate workforce and on occasion come up a little short. Upon arrival we were not given sufficient information regarding breakfast and there was no booklet in the room to help .Small details that can make or break any stay in any hotel. The room itself I found cluttered with a chest of drawers inside the wardrobe which I thought totally unnecessary as there was already enough drawer space in the room. The bed large and comfortable. The bathroom shower lacked power but was adequate for our needs. The breakfast was good and served in a rather nice room. There is a restaurant in the hotel which again is rather quaint reflecting the old country house style, the food is also good. Overall a little disappointing.

As a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) we stayed 5 nights at broom hall country hotel in the woodpecker room. The standard of service was outstanding, the staff could not do enough for us. Friendly and very helpful team, nothing too much trouble. Food was the best we have ever had it was of an exceptional standard. We had Breakfast 5 mornings and dinner on 2 of the evenings in the swallowtail restaurant. Room very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Good location to be able to visit all of Norfolk. Will definitely be visiting again for another stay in the future. Thankyou to all of the team at Broom Hall.

Staff are extremely polite, friendly and professional, i travel the whole of England and Wales for my work and this is one of the cleanest and most hospitable hotels i have stayed in. The atmosphere is very tranquil and you are never hassled, the food is excellent and nothing is ever too much trouble. i can highly recommend this venue for a short holiday, there is magnificent forests and lots of places of interest to visit, above all it is relaxing just to stay put, no corporate stuff, friendly decent staff, who work hard to make your stay the best it can be. finally there is a magnificent golden retriever who is as described the star attraction, absolutely loved my stay and am hoping to visit again sometime in the future, well done Broom Hall.
