I enjoyed a last minute one night stay at this property, which offers three rooms in the home of the owner Vanessa. The B&B is within a short stroll of Sheringham town centre, the prom and transport links - perfect if on a car-free holiday.
I was in a twin room with two single beds. The mattress I used was comfortable with fresh smelling linen.
The room was generally clean throughout with a nicely thought out tea tray and reliable wifi. The room was quiet and dark at night for sleep.
As expected the room had a large bath with handheld shower attachment, and a separate loo.
Breakfast was provided in the nicely decored breakfast room - and of course with three rooms you’ve no choice but to get to chat to your fellow guests! The traditional breakfast was very well cooked and generously proportioned.
Vanessa’s experience as a host shows, but it feels like you’re entering her home (which you are) which offers that slightly more informal feel.
I’d stay again.

Just made a return visit to the always excellent Alverston. This continues to be a lovely, genuine B&B experience thanks to the warm and welcoming Vanessa and the cozy, comfortable rooms. The neighborhood is pretty, peaceful and parking is plentiful, but you can also travel here by train or coastal hopper. It's a short walk to the town center and the seafront - you can enjoy all the bustle, fun and long walks and then return to the tranquility of your Alverston room - bliss! Nothing is too much trouble for Vanessa and her breakfasts are fantastic and they set you up for the whole day! We are thrilled that Sheringham is thriving, with lots of new ice creams and coffee stops. This is a lovely, cheerful corner of Norfolk and a gem of a B&B - highly recommend!

Just want to say this is a beautiful place to stay. The owner is fantastic and knows the area she has recommended places to go and she is very welcoming. The breakfast is also very good. I did feel like I was at home from home the Wi-Fi is good. Rooms are clean and comfortable also I had extra pillows in the wardrobe so I didn’t have to ask for extra ( I like at least 3 pillows). I would recommend this place for solo traveler’s and small groups

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Alverstone B&B. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee available in the room and mini fridge also. Vanessa is an excellent host who was very accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic. Catered to veggie and non-veggie with no bother. The location is perfect for exploring Sheringham and north Norfolk coast. Free street parking directly outside.

Alverstone is a wonderful bed and breakfast with a lovely, warm owner. Breakfasts are amazing, with plenty of vegetarian options. Our room was spacious and airy and had every home comfort. It’s a great place to stay, on a quiet road, but right next to the town centre and seafront. It’s by far the best B & B we’ve stayed in and we would definitely stay there again.

A lovely b@b. We could not fault this place, everything perfect , the room comfortable and spotlessly clean , the breakfast was hot and cooked to perfection, location ideal and as for Vanessa the perfect host.

A really fabulous stay in this gem of a B and B, situated perfectly for a short stroll to the beach. Vanessa is so welcoming and breakfast is superb. Could not fault this perfect place to stay. Will definitely be going back. Thank you Vanessa.

Have stayed at Alverstone many times. The last 2 occasions with my sister and her family so we have had the whole b & b.
Rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable, situated on a side street but only 5 minutes to beach and town.
Vanessa is a great host and cooks the best breakfast. Plenty of options to choose from.
Definitely be staying again.

Paul and I thoroughly enjoy staying here.

Once again an excellent few days stay, It is like visiting a member of your family, made to feel very welcome. Lovely establishment throughout. If you have Vanessa's big breakfast you don't need to eat again till the evening, it's great. Lovely B&B in a lovely place, Sheringham. Will certainly be back again.
