The rooms were very spacious and clean, the young staff were so friendly and funny, they made us feel so welcome and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I so want to take that beautiful cat that came to visit us via the roof .... Home! think his name was Tyson.

Me and partner went away for the weekend, we have visited Southwold previously and stayed at The Kings Head, we learnt that it was under new management, and was surprise to see such a difference. The rooms have been refreshed, and they were cleaned to a high standard. The staff were helpful, and pleasent. We had dinner the night before,...

to start with we stood waiting to check in for about twenty mins even though there was no one in the bar appart from a polish man on his laptop and i assume his wife on hers. They were totally abliviouse to us waiting to check in! when they finally saw us they were not happy to see us as...

Under new ownership and the new management couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, with nice fresh towels and linen. The room was a good temp all the time, with adjustable heating to suit your needs. A lovely cat visits at the window to say hello and have his chin tiggled. Breakfasts were plentiful...

arrived and firstly didnt like the fact they wanted to write down my card details in a book, so paid by cash instead!!! Heating was on all night!!!!! It was soooo hot couldnt open many windows as they were painted shut! The ones that were open a local cat kept using as a cat flap. Bathroom was filthy, and the...

Good points first! The King's Head promised much - friendly, bright-looking Adnams pub on the High Street in Southwald. The rooms were large and bright, and the bed very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast tasty (as was the excellent Adnams Beer!) We felt, however, the negatives far outweighed the postives. The bathroom was filthy,...

Just returned from a weekend break at The King's Head for a family celebration. We chose the Kings because me and my husband had eaten there occassionally in the past and enjoyed the food; there are only 3 guest rooms so our group would be the only ones staying there which we thought would make the stay more relaxing than...

We stayed here because we decided to spend a weekend in Southwold at the last minute, the whole town was booked up and the Kings Head happened to have had a cancellation. I must admit I was a bit worried about it after reading the other reviews here, but in the end it was fine. The bedroom and bathroom were...

I must say that I stayed here because it was cheap and I only wanted one night, leaving before breakfast (not served until 8 am). The staff are relaxed friendly and check-in is easy, in the bar of the pub. I think there are only three rooms. Mine was reasonably big and had windows on three walls but not much...

This is an average pub with rooms above. The room was large and basic with a large kingsize bed which was very comfy. Unfortunatly the windows had been left open so it was initially freezing. Also the room was not clean and an unspeakable and unwanted guest had been left in the toilet. Did not eat in the pub due to...
