We stayed here overnight because we were going to a show in Hastings. We were in room 7 and found it to be clean and nice and bright with the sun shining through the window. Bed was comfortable and we found the place surprisingly quiet, the shower worked well even though it could benefit from a bit of a descaling...

For me it's important to give a fair balance when giving a review and in all honesty some of the reviews I read before travelling almost made me change my mind. As already mentioned this hotel is centrally based on High Street Battle and ideal for exploring the local historic sites and visiting local eateries. So stay here we did...

I read the reviews prior to arriving having already booked. Most comments were accurate, cheap, comfortable and clean. The spiral staircase is easily accessible and works well, not a problem getting to rooms. Free parking and good location for the town.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed at. We were there for 5 nights and our room never got cleaned, the sheets were not changed, no clean towels, the bathroom did not get cleaned. There is no front desk, you have to enter through a side entrance, which at night is dark as there are no lights. We never saw...

3 Stars ? Doubt it. The hotel is as tired as it can get. Check in was non existent. We just gave our name and were given the key (which opens room and main door). So I can only guess what would've happened in case of an emergency. 4 flights up to the attic room with bags and an asthmatic...

Been here a couple of times as it's cheap! Uses this place for a room only, you pay cheap prices, don't expect grandeur!! What it is, is a place to stay slap bang in the middle of battle, location is excellent, that's why we use it, lovely Thai restaurant next door and the local pubs are friendly and welcoming. If...

Mind you: this is a hostel and not a hotel in my opinion. Don't book it for a romantic get-a-way or similar. Having said that, rooms are spacious and clean(ish). Staff is on site, yet not very welcoming or particularly kind. Bed is comfortable, shower hot with mediocre water pressure. I like having a iron and ironing board in the...

My husband booked a couple of nights at the George so we could explore the surroundings and I have to say it was a perfect choice. We stayed with our 7 year old son and it had everything we needed. Granted it doesn't have breakfast facilities but opposite the hotel and along the high street are a number of really...

Much the same as other reviews really. Nothing fancy but the room we had (rm 19 attic) was clean and the bedding was clean and crisp. Hotel is old and it's age shows. If your tall mind your head on low beams. Didn't see any disabled access, whilst the spiral staircase has character, it leans in a bit and seemed...

Price is Cheap. But it's not really cheerful. Virtually no service on reception. Came quickly once rang for but got the feeling I was keeping him from something more important. There is no in house option for eating breakfast. The decor is tired and just about clean. There is no room "air conditioning". There is a thermostat on the wall....
