Hired a meeting room in November. Politely explained to the events team that I wasn't happy with the experience and that I'd send a constructive email with some pointers to help them better serve local businesses. Having spent a while writing this diplomatically for them, it's frustrating that they couldn't even be bothered to reply to that feedback or apologise... More

Long weekend stay on voucher deal. Excellent value. Initial rooms a little disappointing and neglected , but immediately upgraded to lovely rooms. Nice grounds with quirky inexplicable animal statues - loved it. Food good and staff friendly and very hardworking.

Spent ages trying to find a telephone number for this hotel that has looked so attractive when I have passed by each week. Failed. So called in to place a lunch booking for Sunday luncheon. Nothing to indicate what we may partake of,and upon the presumption of the receptionist that there could be a roast available I made a timed... More

The surroundings are very pleasant and the staff were extremely helpful. The major problem was that the mattress was very much smaller than the bed. I am disabled so my wife made sure that the mattress covered my side of the bed but in doing so she had a huge gap on her side. Without the mattress problem the stay... More

Sadly, a disaster. In fairness the room was acceptable ( we did however have to ask for heating at 5.00pm 2nd evening given it was November) but service and facilities were abysmal. After dinner 1st night we asked for a glass of wine at 9.20pm to be told the bar had just closed. We then asked at reception for a... More

Stayed at this Hotel for two nights. Hotel really needs refurbishing very dated. Had evening meal one night which was nice. Breakfast buffet style was warm tables not set. Shower in room leaked, carpets on corridor threadbare in places. Only thing that made up for it were the staff Amy and the Manager, they were very helpful and are aware... More

We were not on a deal price as many other reviewers seem to have been and paid £190 for two of us for two nights B&B. I do not believe this was good value for money. The hotel is very tired, and the refurbishments referred to elsewhere were not obvious. On the coldest day of the year so far neither... More

First impressions when pulling into the carpark were good. Nice garden and lake and the staff were pleasant too. HOWEVER if you like afternoon tea then probably best avoid. We were booked and we're in possession of a confirmation email although the hotel had no record. The scones were hard and dry and we're served with whipping cream. I mini... More

We booked afternoon tea as a treat. When we arrived they had not got confirmation of our booking. When the afternoon tea arrived it looked nice. There were only 2 choices of sandwiches. The bread was starting to go stale. Scones were very dry and the cream was not clotted cream as I would expect. I think it was whipping... More

A beautiful country hotel with the added farm of sheep emus and llamas. The décor and rooms were lovely and staff went all out for the added dinner dance Halloween style on the Saturday night. Breakfast was plentiful and service great. The hotel also has an added conference event centre. Would make a beautiful setting for a wedding. Beds very... More
