If you don't like dogs this is not the place for you. Dogs on floor on seats jumping on your lap, I could have put up with this if I could have had a decent pint of bitter but the only offer was caffreys which was Undrinkable . Asked for bottle bitter but none available.

It's the second time we've visited this pub and, yet again, it didn't disappoint us. The food was fantastic, the ale was spot on and the staff were exceptional. Again, this is one of the best pubs we've been in.

Tried this inn for the first time three weeks ago as fancied somewhere new for a meal with my hubby. Loved it so much we booked again while we were there for the following week to have their Christmas menu. Amazingly good value at £19 per person for three courses (wine, coffee are extra). The welcome we got was extremely...

My boyfriend and I dropped in without a reservation after a day-trip around the reservoir and were blown away with the service! The pub/restaurant was cosy, warm and well-equipped with a fantastic selection of beers, spirits and wines. Great attention to detail in the decorations - the low roofs and dark wood tones through the building were supplemented with gorgeous...

Had a really great time with family and friend, the service was amazing, food was delicious especially the all in one pie! I had the fish and it was so testy. Will definitely be back for more! My eyes is on the rips next!

Had a Friday night dinner here with 2 close friends on our reunion weekend. We booked a table and we're very comfortably seated by the fire. We felt so at ease with the friendly service at all times, lovely people who did everything possible to make it a great night. The food was delicious, nothing pretentious, just good quality, cooked...

This is a pub in the middle of nowhere really, but Sunday lunch is busy. Great service, although a little chaotic at times, and decent food, but too many people standing around you waiting for tables to come free, and too many times doors left open for the cold winter breeze to come through. Nice garden when the weather allows

We have eaten here twice in the last month and on both occasions the food has been great. Tasty home cooked food unfussy and big portions. Good value for money and plenty of choice on the menu to suit all. On both our visits we found the staff to be very friendly, welcoming and attentive. We did not stay at...

We turned up 2 minutes after midday when they opened and snagged the last available table. Glad we did as the food was great. Not too fussy for a "gastropub" and decent sized servings. We ate elsewhere in Ticehurst the night before and this was half the price and twice as nice! Reservations would be a good idea though!

This pub used to be my "local" before it was turned into a "gastropub" but in recent years it has returned to something like a proper old-fashioned pub with good beers, great food which is served in the integral dining room. Service is excellent and friendly. I hesitate to give it five stars because I don't want it to get...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bull Inn was built between 1385 and 1425 and is reputed to be one of the oldest dwelling places in the country, but only became a pub towards the end of the 19th century. Set in 4 acres of rolling Sussex countryside, and within easy walking distance of beautiful Bewl Water, the Bull is very popular with walkers, cyclists and fishermen. A magnificent ancient building in a secluded location, the Inn has a wealth of old beams, low ceilings and quarry tiled floors that give it a real air of the traditional English Country pub. ... more   less
